I had the full Bassani kit on my 99 and I've heard the long tubes. The sound is very similar.

I am going to run the long tubes, cut my Bassani cat pipe to fit, and Bassani Cat back.

You may want to ask Totalled, he has long tubes on his truck.

Also do a search on Rob G he did a JDM header install not to long ago, I am sure the JDM headers sound simillar.

I have coated long tubes and I really don't think you hear them when you have the hood up. At least not like some other uncoated headers I've had on other cars. I think you will find that when you are driving you will only hear the exhaust noise that is dependent on the cats and muffler you run.

Rusty: man, cancel that order! You're already way too loud with the full Basanni! Please don't get those long-tube headders, please, pretty please. They will void your warranty! Your truck won't handle right--they induce understeer and bump steer! The a/c won't be able to cope with the added heat and you will sweat in the Vidalia summers and loose all your electrolytes. Take that money and buy a neon light array and then you'll have the toughest L in the onion fiellds.

(For everybody else[not Rusty], he's already whupped me at the track without the headders--whoe is me if he gets them !)

Dan

Thumbs up

Heard some long tubes about a month ago on lightning jeffs L and i must say they are not as loud as straight pipes but they do have a lot better sound to them[no farting sound] ordered mine a couple of weeks ago and the sound matches an L perfect..especially when you get on it.

One more thought; you may want to check your A/F ratio after the install. Some might think this is ****; I call it tuning.
