The magnaflow isn't even shipping yet. I talked to magnaflow before christmas and they said it would be feb. before they are ready. I wouldnt waste my money with truck performance, they are well known for taking your money and making you wait.

 

I was able to wait all of about 1 hour for a response.
They have it in stock, and I should have it in about a week.

 

I got your message 1 minute too late. They better not be full of sh*t when they said they had them in stock! I am on the phone with Leon (sales rep) right now, who is guaranteeing me they have this item in stock, and it will be shipped to me this week. I'll keep you updated on the status when I get my tracking #.

The bassani system does look very sweet, but there is no way I am paying a 20% cancellation fee. Anyway the magnaflow catback will be using a 5"x8"x14" muffler that is different than anything they offer as a replacement. I'm willing to bet it sounds nasty, and i'll post the second I put it on.

 

I think the magnaflow 14468 is 5"x8"x18" , so the muffler on the catback should be slightly louder. I don't think magnaflow sells anything like the muffler they designed for the lightning catback.

They don't have a listing for the lightning. I did a pretty good search and could not find another person selling this (magnaflow lightning catback) item as of yet. I'm sure it will be available all over the place next month.

 

You made a good choice Kidd2001. Magnaflow makes more muffler and oem cats than any other company in the U.S. I have both a Bassani and a Magnaflow on 2 of my Mustangs, and I think they are equal in quality.In fact the Magnaflow system on my Cobra looks better.They both are great, so I would go with the less pricey one.That would be the Magnaflow IMHO.I will be checking into the Magnaflow for my 01 lightning in the next week or so, myself.

This is the deal, truckperformance.com doesn't stock most magnaflow parts because they are located 20 minutes away from magnaflows factory, and just have all their magnaflow orders shipped directly from magnaflow. I recieved an email today stating that the L catback was sent from the magnaflow factory today, and the estimated date of arrival to my house is 1/14/02. I'll post if anything changes.
