wipe out

I rolled my L early Sunday morning. I was driving down a gravel road and my drivers side front tire blew out. I went from going north to going south in about .5 seconds, then I hit a ditch and went flying. Came to rest against a tree laying on the drivers door. I was only going about 40 but it sure did fly. The tree came right through the A-pillar and I was eating bark for a couple of minutes. No injuries except for a concussion, couple scratches, bruises etc. Oh well, I guess this gives me an excuse to go out and get a new one. I was going to wait for the 03's but that's a long ways off. I forgot to bring my camera to work or else I'd post pictures of the reinactment that I did with my die-cast

Glad to hear that you are ok. A Lightning and a gravel road isn't a good mix to begin with. There is a true blue 2002 in Newark, DE at Winner Ford.

Thumbs down

What a bummer, I am glad you are OK. You can allways replce a truck, but a life is not replaceable.

Good luck with the new truck

Don

You must be pretty tough if you say "no injuries except for a concussion". If I got a consussion I'd take a week of sick leave. Glad you're Okay.

Glad you're ok!! How did the chassy hold up to the roll? Did it hold up or did it collapse?

Blow out---I would check and see if Ford didn't upgrade your tires to the Firestone F1'S!!!

I'm not sure if you had F1's or something else on your truck, but to all of you who do live in a rural area with gravel roads and have F1's or just 295/45's, TAKE IT EASY WHEN YOU RUN LOW PROFILE TIRES IN GRAVEL - THEY WILL BLOW A SIDE-WALL VERY EASY.

Glad to here your OK.
They make new trucks every day, your made just once.

I was running 275/40 ZR18's on the front. By looking at the tire it blew out right on the inside edge. Truck held up really well. No airbags....I don't know if there are sensors on the sides of the vehicle.

As far as being tough, those who know me would tell you this was a walk in the park. I'm not saying I'm tough, just durable.
