They are within a month or so of releasing a new 16" Drag tire

Don, unless that's a typo, that tire won't fit on a Lightning. The widest tire you can run is a 12", unless you tub the bed and put in a coil over suspension.

BOY O BOY is that going to make things allot easier on me!

I would rather run 16"s anyway, that way the front runners can match the rear rims!

Now I got to pick out some new trick rims!

Ok I called them back

28x14.50-16 tread width 12 inches section width 13.1 inches
28x13.50-16 tread width 11 inches section width 12.7 inches

they will also be making a 28x11-16 but I didn't ask them about that size

these measurements are with a 10" rim

They are the weld racing rims, XP's.
about 250 bucks a piece, but you could get them for less most likey. The only bad thing is that the size chart on Weld says they carry them in 16x8 and 16x9 and 16x9.5. thats it! But I love those rims!

They also make them in the 18inch sizes for the nitto tires, I want to get a set for street racing!

I thought those were Weld's. I think we might need a little more width than 9.5" Also, will the section width being greater than 12" rub or are we talking about just needing to get the right offset?

I'm thinking you could get some pretty inexpensive 16" steel wheels that would be great for racing on a budget.

Ultra makes wheels that fit the Lightning that look pretty close to the Weld stars.

Maybe it wasn't Ultra. I just checked Ultra Wheels website and I didn't see them. It must be a different brand. I saw them on someone's Lightning a while ago.
