This is only my opinion now, but if you don't try the NITTO tires I would stay with the F1.

Race tires are the best for racing. In the long run, it's cheaper to get a set for the street and a set for the track.

Sorry, silverz28, but you did seem to have the 'tude first. Maybe its the way you typed in your reply, I dunno. I don't think Spike was trying to be an ***.

Also, FWIW, I have the Toyo Proxes S/T in the stock size and so far, they rock.

Silver, get a clue! Spike made a good point in his first post, & asked a simple question in his second post you have not answered. What type of racing? The F1's are pretty good all around.

The first post was missing a little info. In the future give us as much info as possibel. This will make it a lot easier to give you a answer.

As far as tires, I have heard the BFG are not as good at the strip, but I have never tried them. The Goodyears seam to be a very good all around tire, and the new compound found on the 2001's and now available every where are a little stickier than the older compound found on the 99's and 2000's.

What Spike said is true if you do a lot of drag racing a good set of drag tires will save you money, and agrivation. The stock tires will wear out pritty quick at the drag strip. They will also spin on the rim causing you to have to reballance them fairly often.

So in the future give as much info as possibel

Hope this helps you out, we can sometimes be a cranky bunch

From what I've seen and heard:

Best Street road tires:
Bridgestone Potenza S02's (S03's are not in our size)

Best Street drag tires:
(whatever up front), Nitto 555R's (now available in our size)

Best race tires (autox/road):
BFG Comp TA R1's (while available)

Best drag ties:
Mickey Thompsons, 26"

I've got the following for my truck:
Street: Pirelli System Asymetrico
Race: BFG Comp TA R1s
Winter: Dunlop Winter M2 Sports
