Question www.JerseyLightnings.com

Hey, are there any Computer/Internet specialists on this board?

I've heard that now a lot of hosting companies offer super low fees to have a web site set up on their server... Something to the effect of paying: $15 (approximately) to register a domain name through them and hosting is free on their server... with a considerable amount of bandwith...

Is this any good, or does anyone know of a better deal?

I was wondering because it would be Smart to register www.JerseyLightnings.com for example... So that I cam move out: http://www.4adrive.com/jerseyvics/th.../svtlightning/ this page on its very own domain name.... AS we all know the SVT Lightning is a totally different animal from a Crown Brick!

Also, even if the costs are so low I still wouldn't be afford them all by myself... I'm a broke *** college student with nothing but time on his hands while I'm searching for a job... So if everyone who is interested would contribute like $1 buck we would make the proper payment to register and start up a new site....

The beauty of this is that we would be able to feature everyone's Lightning from around the Globe on this web site since the space will not be of the essense ( my site is filled with stuff on the Crown Vics thats why I don't have too much space for the L's) and we would have a National and International registry for all Lightning owners plus have a page for each one featuring their mods and whatnot...

So, let me know guys, any scholastical or financial help would be much appreciated...

Maybe by the BIG Spring meet we'll have a site for the Lightning Registry running already?

Let me know!

PS. I also registered a new e-mail on my account for all you Lightning guys to send a pic to so you don't have to mix it with the Crown Vic stuff, it is: JerseyLightnings@aol.com

$8.95 a month and free domain registration. That's what it used to be. I have had good luck with them my sites.

I guess I was missinformed...

I'll have to see if someone wants to offer about 5Megs of space for this so I can register the Domain name on my own and do URL forwarding to that site....

I mean a lot of people got the money to pay for their web services and often don't use the whole deal... One of those good folks was my friend owner of 4aDrive.com too bad I've already used out most of the space he gave me and I feel like a pig thats why I don't ask for more!

Its all good though, if anyone wanna chip in... feel free to make an offer... its not like we're competing or anything, if there is traffic to one site, its very likely that traffic on the next affiliated site will increase!

You can just buy the domain and have it linked or redirected to the server you are currently on. This will cost you about $35 a year.

yup I will be doing that for my general site on there...

I just paid for www.JerseyVics.com and soon it will do URL forwarding for www.4adrive.com/jerseyvics

The problem is I don't have too much space to play around with on 4aDrive.com thats why I wanted to separate the two sites and still get a www.JerseyLightnings.com domain for the proper pages.

I just signed up with NameZero.com for the www.JerseyLightnings.com its a great way to have that domain for a year and not pay for it at all.... I did that with www.JerseyVics.com and it was GRRRREEEAATT! Its just awkward waiting all this time for them to process your request... I send them a check last week for Jerseyvics.com
