Borla noise/ exhaust noise

Has anyone (with Borla Cat-Backs) ever noticed a fluttering sound from exhaust at WOT? I first thought of a leak, but it's tight as a drum, Then I thought maybe I had a plug working it's way out...nope there too. Sounds a little strange for an exhaust note at WOT, but would like to see if anyone else has this
It sounds a little like the wind slapping the top of the passengers seat belt when the window is open & your clipping along at around 90

It has been my experience that the strong slapping sound a wot mellows out after awhile. I wasn't real happy when I first put it on the '99 but over time I have come to like it and prefer it to others I have since heard.

If it is a wet flopping sound, I had that with the dual Flowmasters I first installed in my L. I hated it. I went on to the next mod, which was the PSP filter kit, and the noise went away. When I switched to Borla, I didn't have the flopping sound. Maybe it has something to do with the amount of air you have coming in through the intake.

Slapping sound

Maybe I'll try going back to my PSP system and try that. I went back to the flat K&N filter when I had a clearence problem.

slapping noise

Dan,

You can hear the noise with the passengers window open or the back slide open till you let off the gas. Wet rag slapping sound about says it right...

i have it.
bought the truck used with dual 2 chamber flow masters on and heard the noise at that time, i thought i had one blown out muffler, then went to the borla, and can still hear it. mods are a flat panel k and n, chip and opened air box..especially shows up when driving along a curb or a barrier wall on the pass. side.

not that bad when u get used to it and know there is nothing wrong..

Have to agree

Jim, I have to agree with you. After checking out every possible cause & finding nothing wrong, it's just one of thoes things that sound strange, but hurt nothing. Let's see....what's next????
