I thought you had to be a member of SVTOA to get a subscription. I never signed up, and I haven't ever gotten any membership info.

There is at least a SVTOA free enrollment form inside for 2001 SVT owners so I guess I'll send it in and finally get that free membership that I kept hearing about.

Some interesting remarks in there about ECU tampering and warranty:
“It’s an interesting line Ford toes: you as a consumer are the owner of the vehicle, and can do with it what you please, whether that means drive it stock, tune it, go fast or park it in the East River. The flip side to that is you are utterly responsible for your actions-if you modify the ECU in your quest for more power, you could be dancing on your warranty’s grave. Parts that wear excessively or brake in symbiosis with your mods will not be repairable under warranty, and have been known to drive skittish dealers to void the entire vehicle’s warranty. Keep in mind that without establishing a connection between your modifications and actual damage, it’s illegal for the dealer or manufacturer to void anything. Every case for warranty cancellation must be proven individually, as is thoroughly described on one of the Specialty Equipment Market Association’s websites, www.enjoythedrive.com , which keeps a well-written section on legal issues concerning your SVT machine."

I believe you'll receive the Enthusiast magazine for a year (4 issues) because you purchased a Ford SVT vehicle. To continue receiving Enthusiast after this, they'll expect you to either purchase a subscription, OR, buy another SVT.
