Angry Just my luck!!

Well, true to form for me! Took Silver-Bolts' advice and went ahead to schedule the inter-cooler replacement. Talked to the
Ford dealer in Sandy, OR. "No prob. We'll even do the wiper recall at the same time." OK. So I order the parts per the recall.
They tell me 3-5 days for the parts to get there. That was 20 days ago. Call the Ford dealer to find out WTF is going on. Service Manager no longer works there. Nobody can tell me what's going on. This is exactly how every Ford service I've ever had has happened. Now you know why I was hesitant to let the dealer turn wrenches on my truck. I know there are good techs out there who are very competent to do the work. But with my luck, it'll take another 20 days to track the parts down, a week to fix it, and I'll get it back with 150 "test drive" miles on it and it will never run the same again! Help?

If you are mechanically able, why not let them provide you with the parts and fix it yourself? Thats what I talk the Service Managers into when I have a problem!!!

Thumbs up

How I cured my Ford Service Blues......Take the L to a Lincoln/Mercury dealer instead. Higher class everything. I did, and so far have nothing but praise for the service I have gotten. In fact the L is there right now. Should have it back soon (today).

Red,
Sorry to hear about your bad service. They did ecellent for me. Part were ther in 2 days. Dropped the truck off on a Tuesday at closing time and it was done Wednesday morning. I will dig out my paper work and find out who the writer was and who the tech was. I will post it tomorrow. On my way out now.

Just had my intercooler and wiper reals done, They even gave me a new fog lamp! Took them about 4 hours, they let me go back occasionally to "check" my truck but didn't stay the whole time (insurance). When I went in they started looking for me a loaner car and I sayed I would go see if I could get a good loaner from a "Gary". Gary is the general Manager and is a family friend, he was in a meeting but I think the fact I knew him mighhth have helped.I ended up with a gold 4dr Focus since I would be just using it to go get lunch I didn't say anything.
If you are in Southern Indiana area try Ruxer Ford they may be mod friendly took mine off just incase but said sokmething to the service manager about having to put my parts back on when I got home . He laughed and appologized about giving me the slow Focus.

That's what I did. They got the parts in a few days, scheduled my appt., they gave me a loaner (Focus - yippeeee!), and had it done in one day. It's now been over a month with NO trouble, so I guess it was done right. My stock I/C never leaked (16K) and hopefully this one will perform equally as well.
