Question JDM 3 Stage Kits

Has anyone tried the 3 stage performance packages from JDM Engineering. Do they work? Are they worth the $$$$$? Is their a better way to get more performance out of my L? These pre-packaged performance kits seem to take the guess work out of it, but I also want the best for my truck. Any Ideas?

This will probably start something here, but if you have more money than $en$e, that would be the way to go. For 6K+ I better be running tens.

I would do some research. Look at all the tuners before you make a decision.

Thumbs up

my truck is getting closer to a stage 3 every day. If you have the money do do it all at once you will save a litle money.

I am sure I am like many of us who started with a chip and filter, and added one mod here and another there.

If I had known then that I would have all these mods, I would have started with at least a stage 2 kit. These trucks get adictive, once you start modding them it is hard to stop.

I have been very happy with the way my truck performs with JDM products on my truck. They have been very helpfull, allways taking time to talk to me over the phone.

If you have any concerns give Jim at JDM a call, I am sure he will answer all your questions.

Good Luck
Don

krzcwby,
JDM stage 3, all I can say is if Jim offered the Stage 3 kit when I first got my truck that is the way I would have gone.
The last thing I want to do is start any tuner wars, So everyone please be civil and if you want to jump in here, just do it with out any bashing.
I myself swear by JDM, not that the other tuners don't know what they are doing but Jim and the JDM crew have kept me going in the direction that I want for my truck. I am very, very happy with them.
And just to prove how sure I am of the work that JDM does, I am willing to race anyone on the North East coast to prove who is better. This can be customers against other tuners customers trucks. It can be, "run what you brung" as long as it is gen 2 against gen 2, and we can even go motor only if anyone wants, for the non nitrous guys that think that they have what it takes.
The main reason for this challenge is because from what I have read it is almost always a tuners customer that has to bash other tuners, I personally think that all the tuners have a lot to offer everyone, but my opinion is that JDM's research has been and always will be a step ahead of the competition, that is why I run the JDM banner.
So lets all make this a good friendly competitive post and not let it get out of hand.
Any takers? My truck will be coming out of storage in march and My local track opens in April, I will be willing to travel, with in reason, for any such competition so let's see who is in..

Bill

Even thought I do not personally use JDM products I agree with EVERYONE & EVERYTHING SAID in this post so far. JDM does do TONS of testing with high tech equipment (Most tuners do as well though). Its all a matter of personal choice end the end. Alot of the products offered byt ALL the tuners are really similar. I mean there is only so many ways to do things. Just think what seems best for you & your truck and noone will ever go wrong!!!!!

I see it like this....

JL(Johnny), JDM(Jim),PSP(SAL),LFP(Mark)= HIGH CLASS TUNERS!!!

They all are top notch and most of the trucks with their basic Mods run REAL close to each other. True when someone using primarily one tuners products, that makes him kind of a race truck for that guy. It can be fun, or it can bring out the badsides of people.

I have talked with most of the tuners & would use any of them if they had something I wanted. So far JL has taken care of me so thats why I use him. I was talking to Sal about NOS though, so maybe soon my baby will be JLP & PSP powered. But you never know!!!

All I can say is this post is going in the right direction (FOR A CHANGE), Lets not bash any tuner, lets provide info to a new L owner looking to Mod there $32,000 toy......

I am ready to run Bill too, bring it on Bud.

I think Bill is going nuts since our local track has been closed down since October. Maybee his wife is holding out on him and he has a major build up of testosterone.

I know I am going nuts. I have my truck off the road for the winter, and am driving a 95 Chrysler mini van.

10's lol.... Iam going to have 7-8K or more in new mods for this nex't season...with no new pistons or rods ect and will be lucky to see 11's in good air in the spring or the fall. With no nitrous, you would be suprised what 11's cost and this is with me doing all the installation besides the stall convertor/tranny work which only cost me 450.00

TimBurntire,
Georgia, Come on Tim, I said with in reason. Let me see, I live in Maine and you live in Florida, How about somewhere in the middle, Like Cecil County Dragway in Md.
That is about as far as I would like to go, Going to have a new baby in March so no cross country trips for me too soon.
I am very happy that this thread has stayed civil, the hope for a more united lightning community for next year is looking good so far. Lets all keep up the good work.

Don, Bring it on brother, I will see you in April at N.E. Dragway...

Bill

Richard,
That sounds good, I love to race, and to me it is all about fun. That is why I hate the bashing so much, It takes all the fun out of it. As far as not spraying, I am cool with that, motor against motor is fine by me.
Tim Burntire,
What are we betting? I was just thinking about racing for fun, for bragging rights, But if you need it to be for money that is fine with me as long as the bets don't get crazy. Maybe $100.00 to a $1,000.00 limit sounds good. I have heard about your truck so I am sure it would be a good race. Are you spraying, or are you all on motor? From what I have heard your truck is going to be Bad A$$. I will be looking forward to see how your truck runs, So please keep me informed.

Check out my sig. I have just over $1,500 invested, and don't think it would take much more to get to the 11's. (I'll soon find out)

The biggest difference in the tuners is the chip, which is mostly a personal preference. For the rest of it, I just go with who ever has the best price.

I believe all the tuners are doing a good job and i'm glad that they're putting their trucks on the line for our ultimate benefit.
