New personal best last night!

45 degrees
1.873 60' (still wish I would have left a little harder)
8.092@86.86 1/8th
12.63@107.5 1/4
On F1's @32psi

This was with a JDM single program chip, JL 3lb lower pulley, homeade cold air intake (not a ram-air), and a homade "Fast-Air". Dropped the spare. The hitch has been off for months, the Rhino Lining should make up for the hitch.. That's it.

I called JDM about some detonation I have picked up since we've started getting cold air FINALLY here in Georgia. Come to find out, they had mistakenly burned two flip chip programs on my single chip. I ended up with a "race program", supposedly the same one the Jim@JDM runs on his truck. From my list of mods and his there are hardly any similarities. He's making it right by sending me a chip to replace mine. I noticed a tad bit of detonation at tip-in (in cold air) and slight detonation at the top of third (again only in cold air). At temps above 60 degrees it ran great on 93. I put a little 108 in it and the detonation I was getting in cold air disappeared. Now we're talkin'! Only problem was I was getting about 11.5mpg.

I can only guess what a program that is specific to my truck could do as Jim stated there's probably a little to much fuel for everyday driving (read 11.5mpg) and the timing is a tad high for what I have.

I learned tonight that it's not how much boost you have but the TUNE you have.

BTW, had a GREAT run with DL! He jumped me at the light by 2 tenths but I was running him down at the end, he got me by 1/2 a truck.LOL I cut my worst reaction of the night against him. I WANT A REMATCH! LOL

DL, Jeff, and Robbie, I had a great time. Robbie, next time don't bring your truck if you ain't gonna run it!LOL j/k

hey corner carver, on the way home i left about 50 yards of black marks in 2nd gear,my freind riding with me could not beleive how much more power it is making with the #6 JL pulley. these 20x10's just won't hook. i can hardly wait until Bogart gets the 15x5 and 15x10 ready for our trucks. then i will drive my truck to the track prepared!

Dangnabit CC:

That 'down hill' track you run on is hookin' up to those F1s! See you've got a new sig. Well, well, I'll have to see about that come Jan. 26th, 2002.

All kiddin' aside--great ET--what was the 3rd digit? LOL

Congratts on your new personal best.
Let us know what you run when you get the right programed chip for your truck.

Happy Hollidays

Paul,

Now I've gotta spend some money before 1/26, darn it! I don't want to be the only L in the 13's, that would be embarrasing now wouldn't it!!!

Now, which tuner - JDM, PSP, or JL??? Time to make some calls...

I ran a 12.70 to his 12.82 (I believe). He jumped me by 2 tenths at the line and won with my fender at the front of his door.

He ran a best of 12.62 with the JL chip, ET Streets, etc. etc. and then put my chip in and ran a 12.60 with 60' almost a tenth slower. Him and Jeff both mentioned that their trucks felt like they were laying down a bit on the top end, most likely from having a VERY conservative tune. I think greed might get the best of DL since he said he was gonna be calling JL for a little more aggresive tune. I was really hoping to see him run some 12.20's maybe even lower. Now, if I could get him to remove the jack, the hitch assembly, the spare change in the console, the valvestem caps,... j/k David

this is not an excuse but i think DL's truck would have run a faster time on stock 18" or 20" tires. he swapped the rears out for a set of 26" et drags and left the 20" rims on the front. with his setup i think the taller tires would have helped him out on the other end of the track. his truck on 20" (295-45-20) feels much faster than a 12.60.

OK CornerCarver, Easy on me..

Next time we meet, I'll be in factory tires. My JL winter program is way to conservative for down here. I'll get a JL Race program and you can run your JDM Race program, and we'll get it on..

You know I should have taken those chewing gum wrappers out to lighten my truck up to your trucks weight... LOL Those 20's have to go at the track from now on.
