God I Love This Truck
Not many places to stretch this baby out in South Miami like you guys out west. Asked the wife this a.m. if she wanted to take the L out for a cruise. Big Smile... answer YES. Thirty minutes later found ourselves stopped at a four way stop in the Redlands (farm country). Sinister smile on my face, clear left, clear right, no one behind, no one in front... Pressure applied to brake with left foot, right foot till tach shows 1800, remove pressure from left foot while applying pedal to the metal... SCREAMING EATON and beautiful clouds of smoke in rear view mirror as L begins to slam us into the seat and slide ever so slowly to the right . L shifts to second, bites the pavement with a vengence and rockets onward to 90 in short order. Pressure removed from right foot. I look to my right and see my wife with VERY LARGE smile on face. Quote, " COOL" GOD I LOVE THIS TRUCK !!! And my wife.
Oh man!
Does that bring back memories. I grew up down there(born-n-raised in Miami) and ran all over the South end--Old Cutler Road, Tamiami Trail, Key Largo, mangos, Coconut Grove, Red Road, and on and on.
