Coil Spring Compressors

I've been looking all week to rent a set and nobody has them. I checked Pep Boys and Trak, etc. The only set I found were for sale; $50.00 a couple of days ago and now they raised the price to $60.00. I sure don't want to buy them when I'm only going to use them once.

Anybody in the Northern Virginia area have a set I can borrow? I'll buy you beer and lunch.
E-mail me.

If there is an Auto Zone in your area, they will loan tools.

Shorty:

I hope you're not buying it for the Lightning... They are not needed.

Pulling the upper control arm with the assembly hanging doesn't require compression. The springs just fall out.

Hey, that's good info. Didn't know that. Well anyway I finally found one from the last place I called. Good thing I only borrowed it, won't cost me a dime. The new springs and shackles go in tomorrow morning. Just in time for the rain. Thanks for letting me know.

blownlightning, I got the Ground Performance kit. It is a 1" front/2" rear drop kit with shackles and coil springs. I chose this kit because it did not require any further mods, aka shocks, rubber stops, wedges, etc. I may drop it more in the future. I was looking for an increase in handling. We shall see.

BrianK is coming by tomorrow to help with the install and he will capture the fiasco with a digital camera. He is going to document the install and post it on our NVLOPE site. Should be informative.
