Anyone run a 4# pulley with F1's at the track
Just curious if is even possible to run a 4# pulley on F1's at the track? My guess would be that the wheelspin off the line would be so bad that the ET would be worse than running a stock pulley. I'm looking to drop my ET's .4-.5 over what I am currently running (simply a chip) and would like to do that without slicks. But I'm thinking with our crappy slick tracks enabling me miserable 2.0xx-2.2xx 60 foot times, I would be dreaming to think I can increase torque and run a better ET without the use of slicks.
I have a 4# pulley on order from JDM and I am planning to run my F1s. And then I got to thinking about the traction problems that I already have,my 60' times are about like yours. So I ordered Jim's traction bars To go along with the pulley. Hopefully I will be all set when Springtime comes around. When I wear out my F1s I think I am going to try the Nitto 555 DR's.

I don't know about you but I surely can't--and that was with a 3lb pulley! My F1s would spin almost to the 1/8 mark
. I gave up and bot M/T ET Streets--also saves my daily driver F1s. Sure, try it but I'll bet you can't.\

Hey Peter, I'll try to help you out some. I ran my truck a few times with just a chip and K&N filter on the truck. My best was a 13.12 then I installed a shift kit and a 3# pulley at the same time, the next trip to the same track I got a 12.60 and my 60's are like 1.84's. All times were on F1's with about 6k miles on them. I couldn't really tell much difference in the amount of wheel spin off the line but if you think about it, I always launch from a dead idle or just above it like 800rpms, so its not making any boost at all until the engine has time to get up. The 60' dropped from the 1.95's to 1.97's down to the new 1.84. Overall I like the chip and pulley combo. Go ahead and spend a few more bucks and get the shift kit. O and with the extra boost your gonna need a colder plug than the stock one. NGK TR6 or Autolite 103's something like that. Good Luck
You know I haven't tried it yet but after the FedEx man was nice enough to come by with a package from JDM I'm about to...and at the same track even. I'm pretty confident that I can run 3.0 60's and smoke them the entire way down the track based on the traction I saw last night.Dan

CornerCarver runs a 12.783 on F1s at his track(Jackson, South Carolina) and I could only run a 12.791(he never let's me forget it either
) on ET Streets at a different track. Hopefully, come Jan 26th, we'll run side-by-side at 'my' track(I'm gonna be sure he get's the bad lane!).Dan

I run a 2# lower and a 1.5 upper pulley and run stock F1's
I run 12.45's and get 1.82 60 foot times. As long as you are gentle on the gas when you leave the line you should be ok.
The secret on stock tires is to Let the truck roll a few feet before you really get on it.

I know you don't have to roll out then hit it, you have to find out were your truck launches at the best. That's why my 60ft is the best I've seen on F1's at a 1.77 many times at 2 different tracks. I will be switching to a #6 next season for some better times. Check the sig out!

Awsome! JL
