Post Magnaflow 12568 installed

I know this has been covered before, but I figured I would pass along my .02. First of all I have been running straight pipes for at least a year. It was just too darn loud (maybe I am just getting old). The drone at 2000 rpms gets real old quick. I wanted something louder than stock, but not obnoxious (sp?). My first thought was the Magnaflow 12468, but no one seemed to have that one in stock. So, I went with the 12568. I have been running it for about 3 days/200 miles. It seems to be as quiet as stock while idling, and just a tick louder than stock when you lay the pedal into it. I understand it is supposed to get louder with time, but if I had it to do over again, I would go louder. I am happy with it now (just glad it is not SO loud any more) and I do not plan on changing the muffler again. One plus...I can really hear the Eaton now!

I am glad you posted that! I just ordered a Magnaflow 14468 (the louder one) and have been concerned that it may be too loud. But from what you have said, it sounds like it may be perfect!

It will be installed next week, I'll post a sound clip and let you know what I think.

Wink

I wasted money on a 14568. It was no louder than stock, well, maybe a very very little. The Bassani Catback should be in shipment now. Can't wait, I like noise!

Chikenears,

Well, if you like noise, then go with the straight pipes! No cost (other than someone welding in the pipes), and PLENTY of noise!
