Barking shifts hurts tranny??
That wouldn't hurt the tranny but it would put more stress on the rear end.
The tranny barking like that is just the clutch paks grabbing each other tightly. when you clutch paks slip is when it wears out your tranny.

I believe the answer is both yes and no. If the bark happens because of a line mod then there is less wear on the clutches in the tranny (because of the quicker shifts) but possibly more wear on the pump because of increased line pressures. If it happens because of a chip then the answer is an emphatic yes. The line pressure is increased which may cause increased wear on the pump (but possibly less on the clutches) and the fact that the cylinder cut-out is bypassed definitely isn't doing any favors for the tranny (meaning more power is routed through the tranny and the clutches are being stressed more). My guess is that most of the tranny problems that have occurred with L's is because the clutch packs were toasted (the most likely cause) or the pump began to show some wear (significantly less likely).

Well lets put it this way, I don't care who you are your going to have tranny problems if you beat on your truck!
This truck is putting out some big HP and TRQ stock and that hurts anything.
Yes the PSP vavle body is going to help the life of your tranny but don't expect it to put up with everything.
I've gon threw 2 trannies now and this time I'm going to have this thing built to CHIT! I'm having factory tech (greg) build me a bada$$ tranny that should stand up to most anything.
If your that worried about it get ahold of greg or PSP and they can set you up with the stuff you want to have the badest tranny around! I know I am cause pulling this thing over and over is just not fun!

Hard shifts are good for the soft parts(no slippage) and soft shifts are good for the hard parts(no metal to metal slamming). The key is to get the best of both.
