Boost dump on a Chip?

Mainly a question aimed at tuners:
Wouldn't it make sense to to disable the boost dump through the chip? Or is it not possible? I realize it is just a plug, but if it's a possibility to still have it connected, but disabled would be kinda neat, huh?

I dont think that aspect of the PCM can be changed with a chip. The JDM kit does exactly that, but again it's $25 for little plastic elbows you can get at Hi-Lo for $3 (maybe alittle more).

Just plastic vacume line elbows. To actully be percise it is a T, a 90* rubber elbow, and a straight peice. All the JDM kit does it take the dump silinoid out of the vacume system so when the computer enables it, it will have no affect on the waist gate.

My understanding is that the wastegate is neccessary to bypass boost during traffic & low RPM usage in addition to times when transmission temps are too high.

Would allowing this boost to remain contained during these scenarios cause damage or affect fuel economy.

Who cares about the fuel economy, but just thought I'd ask.

I think we're talking about two different things here. Disconnecting the boost dump solenoid just prevents 'dumping boost' if you get into a rev-limiter hit situation(burnout?). Mine
has been disconnected for for over 13,000 daily driver, 1/4 miler miles with no problems. My L gets from 14-15.5mpg, so mileage hasn't been affected--and it runs pretty quickly too

Dan

Btw, thanks for answering my email about------you know.
