powercooler

pardon my ignorance, but i've seen lots of info from doing searches on powercoolers (both jl, and selfmade models) my question is, what exactly does a powercooler do. i know the end result in a cooler engine, but what does it do to cool the engine down and how does it work??

Just curious, if anyone has any pics of the whole setup with the tubing/etc, i'd be happy to see them. At this point i live in michigan with weather in the 40's and have no need for one yet, but i am just very curious to see how they work.

thanks for anyone's help

I THINK, that a power cooler just extends the intercooler tubing. the tubing is put into a fuel cell type thing. when at the track, you can open up the cell and put in ice water.
this is what i think it does, im not positive though

Yes the powercooler ties into the intercooler lines. It runs the intercooler fluid through 25ft ( JL powercooler) or 50ft (JL supercooler) of aluminum tubing inside of a fuel cell container. You can put Ice in the container and run the intercooler pump to circulate the water between runs. It makes for a quick cool down between runs!!!
