Hello,

I had the Intercooler Upgrade performed at Earnhartds in Chandler (I-10 & Ray). Beware. . .They will do the ABSOLUTE minimum they can get away with. You will have to 'remind' them of the SVT policies (like washing the truck and loaner vehichle). Also, be sure to check under your hood to make sure they do the computer upgrade as well (to the '01 calibration). You WILL pull a code if they don't reflash the ECU. I know, it happened to me.

I had issues with this place, but once I raised a little hell and got SVT involved. . .the work was completed swiftly and the folks couldn't have been nicer. The truck is faster with the new intercooler, and it is worth the little bit of dealership guff you have to go through. I was asked if the service manager could take the vehicle home with him (for road test purposes). I was pissed and angrliy denied the request. Watch for stuff like this too. One might think these things are messed up, but compared to some of the stories I've read here about people's experiences with dealerships. . .I think I got off lucky.

Maybe you could try Lou Grubb Ford up in Scottsdale. I doubt the service will be any different, but they seem to be a bit more hip when it comes to SVT policies and procedures.

Good luck!!!

Give Sanderson Ford a call. I just had a couple things fixed on my 01. My service advisor was John Angell. I never had to call him to get an update. He called me daily with results. You do get a pos Escort for a loaner though. One of the service managers there owns a Lightning also. He was helpful in getting certain things done. Only things I didn't like: greasy handprint on my center console and my remote for my stereo was out in the cupholder like they had been screwing with it.

Thumbs up

Great help guys!

Yeah, I really avoid Earnhardts like the plague, thier sales techniques to thier "market value adjustment" B.S. just burns me.

Hmmm They wanted to take your truck home huh? Lol! You should have asked if you could take a brand new Cobra home in trade...!
What Cojones that manager had!

As far as sanderson, we actually know a decent sales person there, even though they are kinda far, I might just go to them or Lou Grubb, since they are a big Motorsports dealer...

Thanks for the replies!

Yoda had it done at Bell Ford. I asked him how his service went and he was happy--No scratches on vehicle, no grease on interior, no vacuuum leaks, etc.

...I/C update

Got it done at Berge Ford due to the location.

They did a good job, my VIN came up on Oasis no problem, they also did the Wiper motor update.

No signs they worked on it, no stains or dirt.
Got a loaner too...
Quite happy for once with the dealer...

The part numbers for the update match the ones I have seen on here before (end in a AB number)

If anyone needs info, let me know.

BTW, only took two days...!
