LB i noticed your endless knowledge above and then confused why you have the $340 PSP caltracks. You know you can buy the same thing (crome plated too) for $45 from PepBoyz. And im not exagerating on the price either. If you were going to get traction bars why not get the type that hinges to your frame underneath. They do cost more but they get the job done better than a flapping arm that loosely smacks against your leaf spring. Just wondering

Dad had just gotten through his back problems when we got the Lightning. Through makeing it faster and haveing killer launches it has hurt his back some. But he enjoys it and will suffer through it. Now he has been really busy running a speed shop and has almost no free time any more. He will occasionally get on the forums and read, but other than that he has no clue what is going on. I told him about the 2002 changes and he had no clue. When the truck isn't in one of the shops for one reason or another, I do get to drive it alittle. Though it is fun driveing around a 500HP truck .
I know they mess with me some times. And some times I mess with them as well. Though im not always as obvious .

I think I just found my General of my Whippersnapper army.
See me and captatin just try and confuse the hell out everyone like a president and vice president are supposed to with BS speaches (cigars and chicks are a bonus), but the General is the one who really knows his stratagies and how to play the game right.
Welcome LightningBoy

Do you guys think SVTgirl would like to be my Monica?
Captain you can have seconds, HAHAHAHA J/K.

We were the first ones to run the Cal-Tracs on the 2nd gen Lightning. They were originally designed for the Expedition. They worked and bolted up to the L, but were very hard to adjust. It wasn't untill one of our HALO members down here got them as well and figured how to make them easier to adjust. We did not buy the PSP kit. We did how ever buy the PSP front brackets for much less than the whole kit. To my knowledge the difference from the PSP kit and the one from Calvert Raceing is the front brackets (though it may not be any more).
The Caltracs are adjustable and do not hit the leaf spring loosely. When pre-loaded they are alreadying putting pressure on the leaf spring. Why change something if it works and works well?
I also dont claim to know everything there is about these trucks. I just know more than the average person does and offer my knowledge to help them. I could have just as easally said nothing and let future Lightning owners waist money. With the 02's now comming out, this was a good time to post that. If you would like to talk about this further, please shoot me an e-mail and take it off line.

Dale,
If I felt like it was a waist of my breath to give a short expanation of why we use/do what we do, I wouldn't have taken the time to type it. You right, im not sure he knows how they work or even how any traction bar works. But maybe he will search and find out...
