I know that they were supposed to come out a while ago but I have never seen one. were they a hit or what. i personally think that the focus was svts biggest mistake. they riced out an american car. whats up with zetec or whatever, sounds familiar. its like for is trying to copy honda

I actually think its gonna be a neat car . I drive my wifes focus ZX3 everyday and i love it . i can only imagine what another 40 horse would feel like in it .

 

It's called MARKETING...........how bout that new Pontiac Vibe that's coming out........it's basically a Toyota Matrix!

Ford has to compete down in those classes also...........the Civics, RSX's, WRX's, Eclipses, Celicas and MP3's of the world are taking over big time............Ford has to respond......and I think they did a hell of a job...........I wouldn't mind having it as a 2nd car myself...

Expect more from Ford and GM in the near future to combat this trend.............you will only be seeing more invasion from the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market, not Jim ) in this country with the upcoming Evolution VII from Mitsubishi, and others!

The SVT Focus will be out in early 2002. The Zetec engine has been around for a while. This should be a pretty neat car that will put a hell of a fight for the ricer crowd. Can't wait to see who puts the Jackson S/C on it first. That thing should flY!

 

The SVT Focus is in the Jan Car and Driver. Good article on it considering it's from a magazine that doesn't have much good to say about the blue oval.

 

at lunch today I read the brand new Automobile magazine where they had a comparison between the SVT Focus and the Nissan Sentra R and the Volks GTI, and a Mazda and the Honda Civic SI.

The magazine said the SVT Focus was the Lotus of the group...I guess they thought it really handled the best. They also said it had the best brakes. As far as acceleration, only the turbo GTI was quicker than the SVT, and not by much.

Overall, the SVT was their top pick.

 

This week's Autoweek has an article about the SVT Focus. Sounds like fun. Now all I have to do is talk the wife into buying an L and I can get the Focus when I'm not driving the big boy!

Check out Feb 18th to 21st. I would be surprised if they are doing some product testing plus an SVT Focus announcement. It's just a guess, but what else would Ford be doing there.

I've actually got to drive one of those svt foci i have many friends that work for either ford or a company which is working on ford parts for their new vehicles. It had padding and camoflague on it, but i was very happy with how fast it is, plus, from what i hear you can mod the living he11 out of a focus.

 

This motor is just one of several that I have in my shop right now and next week there will be another half dozen headers just like the one in the photo. Just check out the welds.

 

Now I have to get the wife to buy a True Blue L and I have to get the SVT Focus in the dark blue. You guys are costing me money!

Looks good....and the seats are incredibly comfortable and supportive.

 

I heard it will be at least March or Apri till we see them. Which is to bad cause I would have liked to have one for the winter, and then as a daily driver.l

 

maybe i was wrong about the focus. it sounds like it might be a cool daily driver. although i still cant get over the fact its kinda ricey. its probly just me. i want to see how they look in real life.
