kinda worried
the only mods on my truck as of know are a psp 2-3# pulley, k&n panel filter, and the psp-f/t valve body. i am eventually going to get a chip but have no money as of now. what i want to know is, am i hurting my engine with the pulley and no chip? i have had the pulley a few months now with no problems. but, i would hate to find out in a year or so that i totally messed up my engine having the pulley with no chip. do i NEED a chip now. or should i be ok for a few months untill i get one.
thanks for the help

I agree
Just diving around you shouldn't have any problems at all. Getting on it from a dead stop like drag racing and all you'll probably be alright to, now when you get deep into the throttle and cruising like 90 mph and above turn your radio off and listen for a ticking sound or pinging. Sounds alot like a little kid ridding his bike with a leaf stuff in his spokes. If you hear this at all back her down and remember your limits and just stay below it until you can get your chip to richin it up a bit to fix the problem.
I would get a chip, Pinging can make you break your motor. It may only be a pinging at High RPM's. But myself and many others have goten lucky and only melted plugs. It can do way more than that though.....
detonation
Yea, I agree with ICULOKN, but if you can't get it now just back off if you have any det. Sounds alot like valves clattering but if you have alot its like the kid on a bike thing. If you have it get some octane booster and find your limits and stay below it buddy.

J15BIG,
You should be fine using the 2# pulley without a chip. I have been driving mine around with a 2# pulley for atleast a month now with no chip and have not had any probelms with detonation at all.
