I have posted this before, But here it goes again. From all my years of having owned supercharged cars. When a serp belt slips it also polishes the pullies! The solution is to remove the pullies and glass beat or lightly sand blast the area where the belt contacts. This should solve your problem for a period of time! I still would like to see COGS produced for these trucks. Hope this helps! Brian

I just bought a new belt from Advance Auto when I put my upper pulley on with my 4 lb JL lower pulley.

Maybe this is a newer type Dayco belt, It was a Dayco belt with a cog pattern in the groves, seems to work very nice, I haven't noticed any slipping.

Sounds good DL.

What is the part number of the Dayco you bought?

Hey FlashSVT,

I'm out of town on business until Dec. 19, I can't remember the part number.

Call your local auto parts store and tell them it a Dayco 67 inch 8 grove belt and maybe they can give you the P/N.

If not, I'll post the info on here Dec. 20.

WCfan, FYI, the Goodyear Gatorback SC Belts are New to the Lightning World today, for all 99-2001 Models, as South Florida Pulley Headquarters did get these made for all Lightning Owners, of the specified model years above. Just thought I would let you know this, as Mark with Lightning Force Performance is right in trying to explain that these SC Gatorback Belts are a New Addition to Goodyears Gatorback lineup from now on.

Also, we have not had the the Lightning Accesory belts made at this time, as it is in the making as I type. Hope this helps, as the Factory SC Belts Do Not have near the Tensil Strength as the Gatorback Design has for these Stock or Modified Lightning's to use!

That is what I pointed out and why I gave the link. They are good belts but the issue of belt slip on the stock eight-rib system is not common and the Ford design standard and factory belt is more then adequate. Now when you start modifying the pulleys you just may want to change. I just hope that people are not mislead into thinking that they need to change their belts or that they will see a performance improvement (on a pure stock system). It is just that simple. Now on modified systems it is a different story but only time will tell what will happen with some of the bizarre pulley combinations.
