Around here we try not to race the L's against each other on the street.... (For Money that is!!) Anyone on here race each other?? It does sound really good when two are playing though.....

 

It is not a race but 4 of us cruised down from Mass to NJ for Fords at Englishtown.

All 4 colors were represented, we followed each other all through , Ma,Conneticut, NY, and NJ at about 100 mph sometimes a little higher.

It was a pritty cool site, I can just imagine what other drivers thought as we blew by them.

It was HDMELNIM(white), Probie(black), JohnnySVT(red) and Me (silver)

 

Here In Texas we race each other all the time. We also caravan to events in lines of up to 14 in a row... Going down I 20 to Hallsville in a group of 14 vehicles is cool. Especially when you see a big snake of Lightnings following you thru traffic in your rear view. We have heard the Semis talking about it on CB a few times

I raced a white 2001 one here around town, he beat me of course. He was chip'd and Im not.

But it was fun none the less.

Hell..........we race here all the time........the first L I raced was a black 01........to his dismay i smoked him silly.......with just a JL programmed Superchip.........get that!!! sorry Leonard.......hehe then on the way to WFC i had a chance to just goof around and run for fun with my bud in his red 00........here we are........almost a year passed with my L......with the mods listed in my sig......except pulley........raced a 99 red L on my way home from work.........pulled him 8 to 10 carlengths............the last...maybe you read my post........i raced 2 chicks in a silver 01 Lightning........about the same results as the race with the 99............i gave them a head start after they turned the dome light on.........WOWSERS...........they were badazz...........guess my delayed reaction caused me to beat them by only 4 or 5 lengths ......its all in fun though.......nothing ever serious........and then i about got to race the baddest L I have ever seen...............I dont have to mention any thing but its a black 99..................the guys here know..............its a total bullet!!!!!!!

 

And why not Dan, you got all your warranty work done, right?

 

Yea, Rusty(2000 red, Basanni, c,f,p, etc?) whupped me several times at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, Ga. Hope he gets another chance on Jan. 26th when many Lightnings will descind on SDR for their reopening day(afternoon) of 1/4 mile racin'. Come on over college-boy! I'm gonna dust your onions(inside joke) this time!

When I was at the Fords@E-Town event this past october(right Don), I raced John843 on he street with hdmlnium riding with him.

John843 had just put in the 3.73 gears and he wanted to test them on me!!! I think I had a few more mods than he did, so the race was dead even!!! (John knows I kicked his a$$)

Nothing like racing in downtown Freehold, NJ!!!

 

Only raced 1 Lightning, and that was Kyle at englishtown.

Though me a white L where showboating down rt18 one night after englishtown on a wednesday, it was funny because we'd slow down let the ricers catch up to us then we'd take off.

I raced this kid for money with a 00 red L.

He saw my truck and said he wanted to race me and he thought he could honestly whack me.

Well I juiced it up with a 50 shot and all he saw was my tailights the entire way down the track! I ran a 12.4?? soemthing to his 13.5??.

Once we got done he pulled up next to me to ask me how in the world I went that fast with my truck and I simple said Power Surge Performace. He had no clue what I was saying so I filled him in and he got all excited once I showed him all my toys! I haven't seen that kid in awhile but he help me buy my new upper pulley, THANKS!

I have more STOCK L owners tell me that they could whack me then I do mustang, Z28 guys. Allot of disrepsect in my area, Or maybe there all just SCARED! Wait til next spring boys!

 

I raced Jay Lincoln back in agust at carlsbad, He beat me though.

I raced Dale Hines at Irwindale and he whacked me, good. I sat there and spun while he motored away. Then my boost shut off. Now I got the 555Rs and the boost bypass kit, and am waiting on JDM's bars. I'd say wait until Irwindale opens, Dale, except I know you got more mods in store for your truck, too.

 

Only at the track. I have never seen another Lightning on the road.
