02-L Rims
02-L Rims
I'm thinking of getting my 02-L rims chromed. I read a few posts on a place in Annaheim that does them for $500 and you get caps and them shipped back to you.
My questions are....I would think you have to get tires removed from rims and ship them to him? What can I expect to pay if this is what is required. Will I get my 02 rims back or someone else's? What can I expect to pay to get these remounted and balanced? Also turn around time? Thanx a bunch.
O ya..Where do I leave my truck on blocks for a week?

Fishnbum..........I might be able to help a little bit.
1) Yes you need to take the tires off before shipping the rims to him. You must also pay for shipping seperately from the $500 you pay them (Santa Anna Wheel). You should be able to get this done for a cheap price at somewhere like Discount Tire.
2) I am pretty sure they return your rims. But this is why the turn around time is chitty. They told me several weeks to over a month. This is why I am getting mine done during the winter while it is in the garage up on stands.
3) As for mounting and balancing someone else will have to chime in on this one cuz I am not sure. Anyone who has racing slicks or Et Streets ahould be able to tell you.
Call them if I didn't answer something for you.......(714) 239-1122
Or try Aneheim Chrome (714) 533-6885 and ask for Al

I live in Orlando, and the best place that I have ever used for plating is Chromemaster.com out of TN. They are the best and their prices are good not the cheapest but they are one of the best. Now is a good time for plating as most of the car and bike shows are not going on right now like they are during the spring and fall. So if you want something plated now is the time to do it. just about everyplace will require you to leave your stuff for at least a couple of weeks. The wheels need to be completely striped sanded polished then Chromemaster triple plates everything. It all takes time it's not like just dipping them in a chrome potion and blamo there chrome. Good luck to ya'll
I purchaed my 02-L from Don Reid Ford. I think it sat in there showroom for 4 days until I saw it.

Unless you absolutely have to have your own wheels back call Discount. They had the wheels shipped in and we swapped. Cost about $650.00 out the door for '00's. The plating is about a 8 on a 1-10. Had one replaced also.
