Engine noises??? Help!

Hey guys,

My 2k lightning is doing some odd things, maybe you all can tell me if they are normal or not, or maybe even try these same things and see if they yield the same problems:

In park, you can rev motor slightly to 2-3k and it sounds like a diesal. If i get on it hard, then let off just right before it shifts it has a vibrating/diesal kinda of sound till it shifts. In park when you rev to 3500ish and hold truck vibrates badly like motor is out of balance.

Please get back with me asap as it goes to the dealer tomarrow and i want to get it resoved as quick as possible

Thanks in advance!

maybe bad gas

How long have you had the problem? Sounds like water in your gas.

Mine does that as well, and I am curious as to what exactly it is.
In my case there is not any performance loss, it just sounds ridiculous. When the engine comes to temp, it does go away for a short time. And 3200 rpm's is when it is most noticable with mine.
From what I read, could be a lose heat shield, and a few other things. I am going to have the dealer look at it ASAP just to comfort myself.

I have been told that the "rattling" noise at the shift around 3200rpm is the factory belt for the accessories rattling against the tensioner. Jim at JDM told me about it.I have it am going to try a new belt in a few weeks. He said it was something in the material of the original belts?

Nope no updates,

Took truck in, and of course problem didn't show up while they had it.

They had truck for 3 days, and all the got done was 'supposidly' fixing the front window leak, and intercooler swap. Front window now leaks worse than before...THey also 'tightend' teh a arm, and after me whining they ordered teh 'kit' from ford to fix it. They also said the cupping of from tires was the lack of rotation on my part. Tires were rotated at 6-8k miles and haven't been done since. I am going to raise some **** next trip out about the tires.

They ordered an entire new rear window setup to fix the leak back there, and new carpet for teh truck to get rid of the mildew.

Still has exhaust leak, still has vibration at the mentioned 3200-4k at earily shift.

OH to top it off, truck had nearly 100 miles more on it than when i took it in AND 1/2 tank less of gas!!!

SOooo we will see how things progress.
