First 3 mods to 02-L

I was loking for a little insight into what would be my first and best 2 or 3 mods to get the most out of this badboy. I'm getting a tonneau but that doesn't count as Fun stuff. Also info where to buy parts would be great. Thanx alot and I'm gonna love being in the L club.

Hey,

Chip, Filter, Lower pulley. Pick your favorite tuner.

I personally use Johnny Lighnting for all my stuff, but Sal of PSP has great stuff and is very knowledgeable also. Some of my friends use JDM's stuff.

There is some West coast tuners , but I haven't used there stuff yet.

Good luck, you will be happy with your trucks new performance, no matter who you choose to order from.

Thanx for the info guys keep it coming. Also wanted to know if the chip can go in right away with no mods then work towards the rest. Also which chip is best and what can i expect to pay from whom. Thanx a ton, I'm pumped up just 2 hours to new 02-L.

I see you are new to the boards, so as a courtesy.

You'll start a war on here on which chip is the best.

All the tuners sell chips and they are all about the same except for minor tuner tweaks. $250 to $400.00 for flips (two programs, four programs).

Yes you can do a chip first without the rest . Then maybe a filter, then Lower pulley.

I would use the search function to look for stuff that you want to do to your truck, you'll probably find it has already been covered.
If not, ask away on here.

Congrats on your new L.

the first 3 best mods in my book are

#1 a air filter kit
It makes the blower sound like a blower and my stock boost guage moves past the 10# mark now before it did not.

#2 A bed rug
Keeps the bed safe and looks awsome Just doa search for them in the lightning forum and you will find a good place to get them or drop me a email I got it for 312 shipped

#3 A new sound system. The one in the L is just lame Drop in a new head unit a small amp and a mtx sub box and you are ready to rock

And the best thing is you will still have your warentee

Welcome fish!

The best mod you could ever buy for performance, is a chip (not going to get into who's chip is best, everyone has an opinion but they are all excellent chips--JDM, JL, PSP). This could take up to 5 tenths off of your 1/4 mile time. If you are going to get more mods....you should try to do them in phases. Ex. --phase 1-- chip, air filter kit, lower pulley (which is the basics). I say this because, everytime you add mods underhood...you will more than likely need a chip reburn. Hope this helps and congrats on your 02 L....you will love it!

Like a lot of guys said chip filter, pulley.
Then transmision line mode or valve body.
I also think a good set of traction bars will help.

Suspension kit, Ruslow's PHR, Brembo's. You can take turns, and still enjoy your engine warranty.

Owner's choice Chip
Owner's choice Filter
Owner's choice Lower Pulley

If you want to auto cross your truck:

If you want to have your truck look good:

If you get the three top performance mods, you'll need a fourth--M/T ET Streets

Get a shift kit, the tranny is fine stock but when you start doing things to the motor it's allready nearly maxed out and you'll start wearing out hard parts in the tranny.
