driveshaft loop
driveshaft loop
forgive my unwillingness to just look at obvious reasons, or do more reading,,, i'm much too tired for that today,,,, i'm only wondering, why in the world is a drive shaft loop ever needed,,, what does the thing do. They look like they just sit there and make a steal square around the drive shaft when i look at pics of them. Does the driveshaft really need to be protected from moving left and right???????
...sure would hate for driveshaft pieces to gouge the gas tank or other parts of the underbelly as well...
There's been some pretty wicked pics of broken driveshafts posted here. A loop is cheap insurance, and required at some tracks based on your ET's.

If you break 12.99 on street tires, or 13.99 on slicks you are suppose to have one by IHRA rules. I guess they allow alittle faster E.T. on street tires since there is more chance of spinning. Most tracks do not enforce it but remember it the front U-Joints break, You could go for a not wanted upside down ride till you stop.......
