Cool Exhaust Ordered (finally)

I was about to order the Magnapacks, 14416, when I read TXSVTLIGHTNING post. He mentioned that Magnaflow recommended the Magnaflow 12468. I called Magnaflow and spoke to a very informative representative. After speaking with her, she said that the 12468 (14468 is the S/S version, the one I purchased) is the prefered exhaust of Magnaflow. After tesing and customer response, the Magnapacks were not as highly touted as the 12468/14468's. Too much interior noise and some of the purchasers were not that happy with the 14416's. The 12468/14468 have a quieter tone (louder than stock), when you hit the go pedal, the "hounds of hell" start barking. The crossover is built into the 12468/14468. If I went the route of the 14416's, I would have to purchase 2, costing more than the 12468/14468 and would have to purchase the crossover pipe seperately. I also purchased the Borla Intercooled Round Angle S/S tips, 2.5" inlet-3.5 " outlet, 20120's. I purchased everything from Husker High Performance Exhaust, they seemed to have the cheapest prices. I hope everything works out!
Sorry for the long post.

They sound good. Stink real bad when new but sound good. The burn in after a few thousand miles and sound even better.

What about the 12568/14568? They are they longer/quieter versoin of the ones you mentioned. These are the ones I am considering because I don't want mine to be too loud.

Question

Are the 12568/14568 louder then the stock ones ?. If i'm stuck with my marble can engine i might as well get louder exhaust, ( the marble sound is going away as i put more miles on it after the oil change.)

Question Mufflers

So in everyone's opinion is it better to go 1 2-in 2-out muffler or 2 1-in 1-out mufflers.

Good choice on the muffler!

'Pup,

Just a word of caution on the 20120's if you want them to mirror the stock tips. The angle of the piping from the muffler to the tips will require some creative piping. Double check whether or not the shop has a mandrel bender.

I spent a good hour under my truck discussing with the installer how he could (without a mandrel bender) fab the pipes.

Result: I opted for and exchanged the 20120's for a set of 20132 Square tips like Sixpipes.

I had the 12568 but replaced it with the 14416 setup. The 12568 was too quite, IMHO. The 14416 setup has a very nice rumble. Yeah it's loud but that's what you put that kind of setup on for in the first place. In side by side testing, it's not as loud as straights. As to the "too much interior noise" issue, guess that depends on who you ask. Mines not bad in the cab at all at any rpm or speed.

You will like the 14468. They are built solid and sound good.

Speedin Bob,
The place where I am having the work done has a mandrel bending machine. They were also on the recommended list from Magnaflow. I went to there shop on Sunday, a little 3 bay garage but I saw that they had the necessary tools. They claimed that people from NJ and MD as well as Delaware people go to their shop for custom work. He claims that he does a lot of custom work for rods, classics, dual conversion, etc. He sez that it will be around $200 to do the job. I hope it is like good food, it is usually the little, out of they way places, that are the best.

'Pup,

Just didn't want you to duplicate the frustration.

Pics post-install would be greatly appreciated.
