My 2000 has painted bolts on the blower(yellow), and on the throttle body(white).

I meet up with some guys @ the track last night, Vruhm (not sure screen name on F150). He just got a 02 Blue "L", & with 600 miles ran a best of 13.6 before I left, anywho he lifted the hood & showed me some screws on the MAF that were painted. It was too dark where we were to see any other bolts. He said he would check them out later. We think Ford wants to know if anyone has done anything to it. That is so stupid, pretty soon we wont be able to open the hood w/out voiding the warranty

Ford is so lame...........why do they put a accessable port on the PCM for a chip?? why are the holes in the little plastic piece on the firewall a direct match for the NOS solenoid brackets?? Isnt SVT supposed to be performance minded?? whats the big deal about mods??

Do ya think that possibly, the NOS brackets were designed to match the firewall ports??? Just another whacky goofball thought of mine...

Its a good thing I own a '99 Lightning.

I'd sure hate to bug my good buddy that works at a PAINT STORE. She can match up pretty much any color I want. Including yellow and white . Two can play this game. But I have a '99 not an '02, and I have paint problems of my own...(yeah, peeling on the truck)

big conspiracy.....

I may be missing the boat here but these may only be for QC purposes. Do you actually think for one minute Cooter would take the time out of his busy day to reapply this 'secret paint' in the event of having to change certain 'key' parts?

What about those of us that detail the shizznit out of the engine compartment and/or show said vehicle and remove them? Sorry Sir, your warranty is voided because you removed the secret paint. Oh by the way, and your truck is really nice.

But what about....

Just my .02 from the grassy noll

Acious,

REALLY?

The paint marks are not there to see if you have been tampering. January of this year i was at Ontario Truck and watched my 01 get built.

The paint marks are Engineering and Quality reference marks. If Ford wanted to know if you had removed parts they have a better way then paint. Did you ever see the 10mm PCM bolt with a paint mark?
