Anybody run 5#'s or higher on the street?

Just wondering if anyone is running 5#'s or more on the street and if you've had any problems yet. Im currently running a 2# lower and 1# upper and have just ordered a 4# lower to replace the 2#. So Ill be running 5 extra lbs. Mine is not a daily driver so I should be ok,just looking for other L owners running this much boost. I thought when I hit the 12's Id leave her alone, but it just hasnt worked out!

I know there are a few doing the 4 lower & 1 upper. You should be fine as long as you have the plugs & chip for the Xtra boost!!!

I run the JL 5# pulley on mine. It's my daily driver and I have had no problems at all.

I run a 5# lower and 1# upper daily. My truck minus the slicks is the same on the street as the track including my Diablo chip.

Didn't those long tubes headers give you like a 5 tenths increase. Thats what I heard from some people.

Did you buy them from mike at lightning performance. Which ones exactly cause You REALLY got me thinking about long tubes aafter hearing that! Did you run them with a stock exhaust or how did you hook them up to an aftermarket exhaust?

I just want more details!

Damn Totaled!! I have no fears then about running 5#'s. You must surprise alot of people on the street with that rocket!
Anyways, I feel better knowing some of my L brothers are running this much boost with no problems.

415cid Goose- you had yours on the track yet? Just curious what times you were running.

Black Bomber,
I have a Johnny Lightning chip, pulley, ram air, powercooler and many hours of JL's help!!!
Headers from Mike Reynolds at Lightning Performance Products . PI converter, DUB upper pulley, Bassani catback exhaust and JDM traction bars, Metco fiberglass leaf springs and a plain single blade throttle body until JL's awesome new one is available. Your kid sure is going to have a rough life with "Totaled" as a first name

Killa,
Yeah, I got the Headers from Mike.
With the addition of the headers and a 5# (up from a 4#) pulley I went from 12.22 to 11.79 The headers go in to highflow cats then to the Bassani X pipe and catback.

Totaled-Do you keep the powercooler iced down driving on the street or for the track only?

I ran a 5lb lower and 1.5lb in the 99 and currently run the same in my new one. I mostly drive on the street and haven't had a problem. If you have a safe chip and run good gas you will be ok.

Jim,
I'll see you at the next red light.

Skank Dog,

I thought I would be happy just breaking the 12's too, but I didn't realize it would be so easy. Now I am half way to the 11's

When will it ever end?
