Help on 2002 order

We ordered a 02 True Blue the last week of October. The dealership did not have the pricing, but they stated they would accept the X-plan. We stopped by at night and placed the order, with the paper stating the X-plan acceptance.

About 5 days later, my salesman calls to ask for the $500.00 deposit to get the order going, I said fine, but I need a receipt and the pricing info sent to me. He would finish and forward to me. The was 6 weeks ago, 2 faxes, 2 calls and 1 email.

To date I have receive nothing. I am considering cancelling my order, but do you think it will be hard for me to get an 02 later in the year and get my deposit back?

Anybody have something like this happen to them?

Heh, be very careful of this, and make sure you get everything in writing!
I just went through a similar thing here locally.
We waited until the dealer got pricing, received two verifications on "X" plan for a 2002 Lightning.
Put $500.00 down, and waited a month and a half until we get the call.
The Sales manager made a mistake, we do not accept "X" plans on SVT's.
OK, this would have been fine, but it was YOUR screwup, and now you're backing out of a deal you promised me?

They would do nothing! They expected me to accept $1000.00 off a new one instead...?
HA! B.S.!

So word of warning, DO NOT beleive ANYTHING a dealer tells you unless you have it in writing...!

Good luck, and I hope your deal works out for you!

I just ordered a 2002 Supercab and was able to get the price of it. Why would it be any different for a Lightning?

Drkone: What dealer gave you the shaft? I ordered my 2002 from Lou Grubb Ford and it clearly states on the order confirmation that the price is X-plan.

MarkY, it was Berge Ford, in Mesa...

If, I do get a 2002, or something in the future, it will probably be at Sanderson, or Lou Grubb.

It just sucks, because I live in S. Chandler, and Berge was convenient...Oh well...

Thanks for the tip!
