i have a quick ? for u guys awhile ago by i/c started leaking called up made the appointment , before i went to dealer to get it fixed i started getting detenation i ask the ? then i was told change gas and octane booster nothing worked took the chip and filter out still had the problem , so everythig is good right before i go to get i/c done it starts sputtering on me like it wants to stall wont idle real ruff riding i tell the dealer they say ok we will look at it i get it back after i/c fix and its still there bring it back they tell me coil pack and plug was shot they changed it . my ? is this do u think that was my denenation problem from the start that the coil and plug were going then . sorry so long but i dont want to put the chip/filter back and have a problem again . thanx

 

It could be a coil pack for sure. Is it clear now?? If so pu tthe stuff back in and try it....

I see you are from jersey and not to far from me. So i was wondering what dealer you go to? My Truck is getting towed to my dealer today All American and the truck keeps on surging and wont stay running my friend stripped her and shes ready for the dealer and all the recalls. I doubt i will have a problem with them because the truck is a lease that i plan on buying when its up so it wont do them any good to try and void my warrenty from mods because its their truck. I know its not any of my mods thats causing the suring they are all off the truck. So i just wanted to know what dealer you go to and if they give you ***** about you mods?

i went to wayne ford but i took all the mods off before they even looked at it i dont need any **** so i just took it off .later and good luck

 

Are you still running the stock plugs? If so I would say change them out to a NGK TR5 with a gap of .035. The platinum plugs tend to hold heat. Was the det. there when you first get on it or just deep into the throttle? If it was there right away I would say it was the coil pack no doubt. Deep into the throttle I would say cold dense air caused it and you leaned out, in this case get your chip reburned to richen it up a bit.

Thanks for the info. I stripped all the engine mods off. So we will see what they say. Had to take her in for the recalls anyway even though my intercooler wasnt leaking still better to get it done.

it would do it right away sometimes and other times not . i am going to put chip/filter back in and see what happens later and thanx for the info guys
