Question Blown spark plug survey--->>>

How many guys/gals have blown a spark plug out of a head? Which one went also. I'm trying to see if one plug is prone to going before others AND if this is just a random problem or SOMETHING that is more serious. thanks Jeff

Wink

The second one ? On all color Lightnings ?

Please excuse the sarcasm, but I have a hard time figuring out where this survey will end up ?

You need to have key info. that will help perform a somewhat more accurate survey.

It's a pretty open blanketed survey as it stands.

Mine blew. 2001 14K miles 2nd cylinder. You can do a search and find about 20 trucks on this board that have blown plugs. From 10 cylinder to straight sixes. I found that most 5.4's had blown the 2nd cylinder plug. When I went to the dealer they said 3rd cylinder blown plugs is all they had seen until mine and never one in a Lightning. I don't really believe them anyway...
Call your local dealer and see how many passenger side heads they have in stock. If it is like anything around my part of the country they will have a lot. I'm pretty sure this is the part #FMC XL3Z 6049 HA atleast that is what is on my warranty invoice.

The plugs are numbered starting from the front passenger side #1 to the back passenger side #4 and front driver side #5 to rear driver side #8. This might help some who don't know.
