I've thought about the mods that i need to do. Well since i had a lil accident wit my lightning im lookin for da cheapest thing to do. Well i thought about gettin an exhaust so it would sound better. Well my friend suggested me to get rid of all the cats and get an x-pipe. Has n e one ever tried this or has it done on their L??

Blulightning, I have heard that exhaust mods of any kind do not help performance very much if any on these trucks. Any exhaust mod made is usually for sound only.

Amen 01'! Don't mess with those cats unless you want to be the loudest loser on the strip. I run a Magnaflow for sound. I talked to the SVT eng. at On Track this year and he dared anyone to beat his exhaust without messing up the power curves

an exhaust on a stock spec truck or very slightly modded truck will not make significant gains. however if you you do an exhaust on a mild to heavily modded truck your gonna see some serious gains. take total for instance he seen 4 tenths from headers, his truck is heavily modded. i think you will get 4-6 tenths with a full system with heavy mods. maybe a tenth or 2 with slightly modded. you just need to think about why this is the case. if you mod our trucks and try to push all that extra compression out the stock manifolds your gonna lose serious power because they won't flow the cfm that headers do. hope this helps

 

Now I wonder how much HP I would gai from adding the JDM headers over my bassani headers. Thats what I want to find out.

Didn't totaled have a bassani kit on his truck, I can't remeber if he had the hears though?

TOTALED HAS THE BASSANI CAT BACK W/ LIGHTNING PERFORMANCE HEADERS. I THINK THAT JDM'S HEADERS OR THE LIGHTNING PERFORMANCE HEADERS ARE GOING TO BE THE BEST. AT LEAST UNTIL SAL RELEASES HIS UNLESS HE ALREADY HAS.
