Been getting the magazine since way back in 89. As for the SHOOTOUT . Do a search here, and you will see what I mean. I was listed as the second fastest....but that was a flat out LIE!! LOL....posts were made that afternoon with TRUE track times...and not by me.

What started out to be a SVT/JDM Lightning fun day, turned into something of an Add for some particular party.....but now we all (most of us) know why!

Come on bud let it go that is old news, life isn't allways fair.

You should thank Jim for sponsering the event and allowing you and the other lightning to have the track all to your selves. I wish I could have gone, and heard it was a great time, I bet you had a lot of fun that day.

I bet this is the only time you got your truck and your self in a magazine. Maybee they made a mistake about the times, and who was the fastest. You still got your 15 minutes of fame, and you will allways have the magazine to show your friends.

Don, I hate to get invovled in this kind of stuff, but there's more to it than a "mistake". The two fastest trucks of the event were PSP equipt trucks. The fastest one (12.31), owned by Chris D'Angleo, wasn't even mentioned in the entire article, and the second fastest one (12.32) was Spiros truck, but his best ET was slowed down to a 12.37 for the article. The truck that was listed in the article as the "fastest ET of the day" had a best ET of 12.36, not 12.30. But since it was a "JDM sponsored" event, it had to look like JDM had the fastest trucks. It's just magazine BS politics. Simple as that. No different than when they "test" parts from companies that spend zillions and advertising and "skew" the results so people run out an buy their stuff.

Don,
Think and say what you want, I honestly dont care....
As for the "OLD NEWS".... it's OLD NEWS that gets brought back up to make one "vendor" look better than the other. And quite frankly, I was not looking for any magazine coverage what so ever. I was there testing my nitrous for the first time, and did not need the POLITICAL BS from Jim or anyone else looking to start something. I was there to test and Tune, and report my findings like I ALWAYS have here to all of you. ( But some forget how helpful I have been for the last 2 years). And why in the world should I thank Jim?? I am the one who set that whole event up..LOL FUNNY HOW PEOPLE EASILY FORGET
Hell..do a search. I was even singled out and held at the tree several times while brake-torquing, and even told that I and only I needed to back into the water box at E-Town...LOL Whatever...should I go on??
I simply wanted THE TRUTH TOLD about THAT DAY, not the B.S. we read in magazines, and only to be proven wrong by the replies and posts made here on F150 back in March that same day.
So please...leave the "Spiro must be bashing" at rest, and simply do not reply if you or anyone else Know I am right!!

15 minutes of Fame isn't worth S H I T for what I have been through with these L's....

Sal,
We both KNOW why that was done that way. I just cant figure out why they even bothered listing my truck with the others.

Hey Spiro
I wasn't trying to bash you, I am sorry if it looked that way.

I still stand behind my statement, that life isn't allways fair. I know you got cheated back then, but you knew going in it was Jim's event. It was a early season test and tune day, you made some runs and got into a magazine, that doesn't sound to bad to me.

Yes you have been very helpfull on the boards, I thank you for that.

Come on there are more important thing than racing, and we all get dissed sometimes. I took a bunch of pics at E-town this fall and Jim posted them on his web page and gave credit to someone else, oh well.

I have copies of all 200 + runs that were made that day.
That was the first time, that many lightning have gotten together.
The magizine was there testing a couple of Mustangs.
One of them being the (Paxton barely legal Mustang GT)
It was the editors choice to do the fastest top five of the Gen2's.
There were some faster Gen1's there.
All trucks were given a number in the staging lane.
After the time runs the editor picked the fastest top five.
They each given one run down the track to see who was king of the hill for that day.
PSP customer Chris, had the fastest ET of time trials, with his Gen2, NOS truck which blew up on his 12.31 pass.
Spiro did run a 12.32 in time trials only.
He ran a 12.40 during the five fastest shoot out.
The magizine is 100% accurate in there printing.
They printed the results of the shoot out.

If Needed I will get the email address of the writer of the article and ask him what happened, that way this can be put to bed a year later
