The good news is, they're building it.
The bad news is, only in Europe, it's $223,850.00 US

They've been called to the table by Porsche for racing a vehicle that is not homolagated in '01. That thing flat smoked the 911's. It'll be owned by the Sultan of Brunei's of the world that rarely drive it and when they do they never use it to 60%. What a shame.

60 Minutes did a story on the Sultan's cars, mostly million dollar one offs. they said it takes several days notice, to jockey them around, to get the one he, or some one else wants to drive. there are that many

Let's see. Sell the L and 330i. Get second job. Wife get second job. Quit eating. Will BMW do 15 year 0% financing?

Silver-Bolt,

How does your L compare to the 330i in terms of performance? BTW, is it a 330i or a 330ci?

They are the real deal.http://www.e46fanatics.com/phorum/re...00625&t=100625

The 330i (4-door) is a very nice car. We have the Step-Tronic and I would guess the 1/4 mi time of high 14 low 15sec. It's no slouch, but it doesn't run as hard as the L. Now in the twisties it's a whole different ball game. The 330i actually turns and stops. LOL. The L is not bad, actually damn good for a 5000 pound truck. But it is still a 5000 pound truck. Plan a few mods soon. Have an 02 M3 SMGII on order. Supposed to be in line for a late May delivery.

Silver-bolt, BMW seriously detunes their engines in the states. A chip in that 330 will really wake it up. I've been looking at the 330xi myself. I'm just dreamin' though. I can't afford both and won't be giving up the L anytime soon.

Thumbs up M3 vs Lightning

In the beginning I was trying to get my hands on the new '01 M3. That sucker has 333hp and does the 0-60 in 4.8secs. It's too cool to see a V6 putting out that kind power without the aid of a turbo/supercharger. But they were VERY hard to come by at the time. It was either that, a Lightning or a WS6 RamAir T/A. Never had a truck before, so I opted for the Lightning. But those M3's are the bomb. Another deterant was the pricey parts and labour for BMW's. It's insane. They charge $96/hour(CDN) for mechanics. I can think of other ways to spend $100 in an hour, thanx.

It's a Inline 6, not V6. As usual from BMW, they use a cheap plastic H2O pump empeller that is engineered to explode in 36,000 miles causing overheating, head warping, or worse (read $$$$$$$$$$$ expensive repair AFTER warranty expires). When buying a BMW, buying the extended warranty is actually a good idea.
