I run the TR6's and have had great luck with them. I have 12,000 miles on them now. I hear Jim@JDM is now running the TR5's so who knows. I think the TR6's are the most popular.
Good luck and let us know how things turn out.

Mystery2001,
Sounds like you went lean during WOT at some point with the talon. When you get done replacing the plugs get with one of the tuners that is selling high volum fuel pumps. I know sal at PSP has them. Don't know if JL or JDM have them for sale yet. Check around.
With a chip and 4# Pulley it would be worth the added security. If you didn't have your chip programed for the pulley I would do so.
I had a plug go bad after 84 miles and it had the same problem you described. When it was removed it didn't have any cracks or indications it was bad. I put in a set of TR 6's and it's been fine.
If you still have the problem after the plugs are replaced start checking the coil packs. Also, while you are pulling the plugs check connections at the injectors and the vacuum line that goes to the fuel rail regulator.
It's on the drivers side of the engine next to #8 coil pack. Chances are slim it's the vacuum line. Just check it to make sure with you saying it was a sudden change in performance and idle after your stop for gas and getting on it up to 100mph.
Best of luck.

Sounds like a combo of too much boost and lean chip. Stock prom and pulley would probably be okay. I would pull the chip and don't run the pulley all the way up for now. Regular plugs will melt in that motor. Look up PSP's web site and read his recomendations for plugs on the products page. Pep Boys, Hi Lo Oriley's, and NAPA carry NGK or you can get them from PSP or online. TR7's are too cold TR5's are 1/2 range colder than stock, TR6's are about 1.5 ranges colder good for 4lb pulley and100 shot of NOS. I would run a PSP recomended plug or factory special order Motorcrafts. Ford had that plug spec'd for that motor. That engine pays like 6 hours labor to change plugs

K, well the problem was in the plugs, pulled plugs 5 and 6 so far (the two plugs closest to the front onthe drivers side, and on both, the electrodes were burnt off, melted, whatever you want to call it. I don't understand how you guys who can change your plugs at will do it. I'm beat tryng to fight with, wht I cosider to be the two easiest. I'm currently looking for a store that carries NGK's, but no luck. Looks like I'm without a truck for the weekend. BTW, I replaced the 5 & 6 plug with some otherplug, just to check if it'd help at all, and i didn't, so there are more burnt plugs. Guess it's time to send the chip back for a MAJOR reburn. Is there any other damage I should look for while doing the plugs? What plug do you suggest I run with my current mods. (#4 pulley, chip, K&N drop in filter.) Thanks again for the help.

Judging by the amount of people that HAVE NOT posted here lately...Its probably more common that I thought.
Dont waste your time running TR5's, unless your looking to run down Sal
Stick with the TR6's, and you WILL be fine.
Thanks alot again. I have th wonderful task of hunting down these plugs today. I'm trying everywher from Autozon to import shops, and I'm even callng mom and pops auto stores.
The thing I'm worried about is, what happens if something didfall allthe way down. Will it just burn off eventually? Or will it cause a probem later on dow the line?

I didn't think of tips sticking valves open but that would explain popping out the exhaust
I am glad someone else is having trouble finding them I thought it was just me
I don't know what the dealer would say? Lean chip or too much NOS. They know the stock program is too rich on purpose. In natrually aspirated motors the dealer automatically fingers NOS for burnt up electrodes in hot rods. I would think that high boost and RPM would be more likely to break free a piece of electrode from the valve but it may have already scared the seating surfaces. Hope it is a cheap repair. PS I read Sals post here about the pumps and he said the stock pumps were fine for 4lb pulley. You would have to upgrade with a big NOS and pulley though.

Sounds like you were just running to lean, what they may have caused is questionable. If your running a 4 lb pulley make sure your tuner knows that and every other mod you've done.I know the pulley leans the fuel out,you don't need a higher capacity pump.I've run 12.20's and getting fuel isn't a problem, the problem is getting the proper amount of fuel which is most probably a chip related problem.Getting the plugs changed at the ford garage is about 2 hours laboer, around $100 total, sound like alot, but get a set of tr6's take the truck in get the plugs changed, get them to run diagnostics(make sure the chip is out)see what they find.I'm sure you were running to lean, probably fried some plugs, and ????? Better get it in,if you need to pull off that pulley and put the stock one back on.Take it in,they should warranty the work, depends on your dealer.
Good Luck!!!

Ck compression.I bet that you tuliped a valve when you went lean.More than likely the chip you have is for DRAG racing and NOT top end.So when you backed off the throttle a little to just cruise, you went to stockemetric[sp]and caused the plugs to burn up and heat the intake valve.I hope not but it happened to me.Stan
Good news, the plugs are out, and the temp. replacements are in. Bad news is, the truck still runs like *****. A little better than before, but I still have that exhaust leak sound, there is still some sort of 'ticking' noise coming from the drivers side, and from a dead stop, letting off the brake and letting the idle pull me forward, the truck shakes a lot. Also shakes while in park. It's going to the dealer sometime this week. I'm not expert at this, hell, I'm not even that good of a shadetree Mechanic, so here are some pictures of my plugs. #1-#4 plugs starting from Front of truck on Pass. side, #5-#8 plugs front of truck on drivers side.
