Disconnecting O.D.

Has anybody done this! Any info would help.

It's really simple. There's a little button on the shifter that turns it off.

Sal & PFA SORRY SORRY SORRY, I think I used a Boston term what I ment was ODOMETER I forgot how literal we on this board were!! Speedo,clock,milage counter!HENCE OD. Thank You for the repies BL I thought overdrive was O/D

I know what you meant....it was brought up a while back and it got ugly.....and I believe locked out. Anyway, good luck. Some have to find ohter ways to find out.

Well, if you want to be technical about it, you wrote O.D. The periods signify abbreviations for two seperate words. But that's ok .

Tampering with your odometer (disconnecting it, shutting it off, breaking it, etc..) is a federal offense, punishable by up to 20 years in prison. I REALLY don't think anyone is going to chime in and offer advice on this one .

BTW, disconnecting your speed sensor will cause loss of speedometer, loss of ABS, and cause the truck to go into failure mode, since it would no longer be seeing a speed signal- just in case you might have been thinking of doing that.

Officer or should I say English 101 Teacher SAL (just busting them) I like you was a tech,I realize it is not easy! By the way let's say N.Y. did an emissions test on your truck how much or how many years would that cost(once again just busting them) I just thought I would start here to see if anone had any info! Because I know I am dealing w/ some very intelegent people on the board! Yes that all of you! Thanx BL
