PIAA Platinum Superwhite bulbs

Is there anyone using these bulbs in their L? I just wanted to know how much better than stock these are and if you have had any trouble with them. Also how much hotter than stock are they? Thanks for any information.

Later

might want to do a search on the subject, the subject of PIAA superwhites has been discussed extensively in the past. I realize not everyone that responded had a lightning but many people did and posted positive results.

when replacing the bulbs, i know the aligtnment for the headlights needs to be redone, how difficult it this, or how much would the cost be to take it to get it done, how do you take the head light assembly out anyways, i havent owned a ford truck before

why would they need to be re-aligned? The bulbs are exact replacement for stock bulbs in dimension and they fit in just so that removing and reinstalling shouldn't require re-aligning. I fyou had to though there is a bolt sticking out on the top that is like a 4-mm bolt, you turn that one direction or the other to move it up or down.

i believe you have to pop out the headlight assembly to replace the bulb,,, correct? in my other truck, i changed bulbs and had to take the assembly out cause that was the only way to take out the bulb, and when i put everything back in, the alighntment was all over the place

SVT Bob, the PIAA light will NOT burn your socket. Unlike other replacement bulbs that use a higher wattage output, the PIAA uses the same wattage to produce the output of a higher wattage light. not sure why they never responded to you with that but I know that most companies basically suck at responding to email. Out of the companies I'd email I think I have about a 10% average. I've used PIAA superwhites in all my vehicles, and when I was doing the PIAA group purchase a few months ago I sold over 30 pairs of superwhite headlight bulbs, and haven't heard a single complaint from anyone about having to realign or having any problem with burning out.
Removing the whole lens assembly is one way of doing the bulbs, though I've never actually done it. I've always been able to pull the bulb out from behind like its recommended. But I've got long skinny fingers.

I can still get them through the group purchase for $62.50 (plus about $5 shipping so $67.50). They were $60 during the original group purchase but as demand decreases price increases.
I wouldn't say they are super super bright though, I mean you wouldn't install them and start blinding drivers left and right. Noticeable yes. Blinding no. You want blinding get some driving lights or somethign .
