my guess would be that you can see the shake of the motor, since the intake is bolted right on the motor. The hole thing moves when you blurp the throttle.

Thumbs up

This hood is designed and manufactured by Pro-Finish/Pro-Glass. It's a much better quality hood than Cervini's and I can compare because I had the ram air hood before this one. Contact Mark @ Lightning Force performance for the best deal.

P.S. This hood is functional too boot

SVTRobG,

Did it give you an increase in performance?

do you have a pic from the inside of the truck, like you were driving?

Does the intake stick up much above the rest of the hood?

Thanks

Shaker Hood????

Ford introduced this style of Shaker Hood Scoop on the 1969 Cobra Jet Mustangs. They also used them on the hot rod Torinos and Mercury Marauders.

Cool

PhillipSVT,

Sorry no inside pics but believe me, you can't miss the thing.
As far as performance goes my trap speed was up by 1mph the last time I raced it but the real gain will come once Pro-Finish is done with the air box that will seal up to the underside of the hood. Here's a pic of the underside.

....and the Shaker !!!

The way it works is air is sucked into the shaker and is then thrown out of the lip and into the hood. The air goes inside the hood and exits out over the air filter. There is a specific closed off channel inside the hood that directs the incoming air so there is no random distribution. The top of my filter is getting dirtier then the rest of it so it does work. I rescently upgraded to the 2001 intake/blower/intercooler package and combined with this hood my truck makes 10 psi of boost at the manifold ( in the black on the stock gauge ) and that is exactly what my truck did before with a 1.5# upper pulley and '00 intake. I run the stock pullies
right now.
