Ignition System on Lightning

Are the ignition systems on Lightnings the same on a standard 5.4L engine? I've ordered a 9PSI ATI Procharger and I'm curious if I will need to do something to my stock ignition system. I drive a 2000 F150 4x4 5.4L.

Also, those of you with higher boost levels on your L's - Have you had to beef up your ignition?

Thanks! Frank

This question is pondered quite a bit....

Rick Byrnes broke the 200 mph club at Bonneville Salt Flats in his 4 cyl. Merkur XR4TI. Through extensive testing, he was determined the stock Ford ignition system to be quite capable.

....just fyi....

If your ingnition is the same as the Lightning your system should be fine. Your ignition timing may need adjustment. I would be more concerned about your fuel system. Is it up to the new task?

Get a hold of Mike Troyer over at the computer chip forum, he will help you out.

You may want to talk to crash over at the Superchargers & Turbochargers forum he should have some good info for you.
