Question Blue lights on hood, install question.

Hey,
I installed some blue lighted windshield washer nozzles on my lightng, and the switcj is kinda screwed up. I went from the light, to the posotive part of the batery, and than from the light to the switch inside the car, and than ran another wire from the swtch to the negative part of the battery. When i turn the switch at first, the lights will go on and off as I please, but after I drive around and shut the car off, and turn the switch off, i will walk back and see the lights have turned themselves on, even with the switch off. Anyone know why this is happening???

thanx in advance!!
Justin

You should run the positive side through the swithch, not the ground side. The frame and any other metal component could potentially be a ground. Hook up the lights as follows. Find a good hot lead, connect to switch. Then connect opposite side of switch to lights, positive side. Connect negative side of light to good frame ground. You may have to remove some paint for a good connection or loosen a bolt and use a spade terminal. Hope this helps. If I follow your wiring correctly, sounds to me as if the light is grounding to the hood. Hope this helps.

Doug

As long as your switch is a simple 1 function switch(open or closed), and there is no relay, this will work. Good luck!

ANY GOOD GROUND WILL WORK. JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD CLEAN CONNECTION TO THE METAL!!
