Dual exhuast out the back?

I looked and could not find specific posts on this subject, but i'm just about ready to run a 3" dual exhaust all the way out the back with concealed turn downs. (so as not to be seen) I was needing to know if anyone has done this and what problems that may have come about. I plan on removing the complete muffler assy in one piece and running 3" pipe from where the inlet(s) are clamped. Using no mufflers, it seems this set up would be free breathing enough as to cause no power loss. Does anyone have any comments or recommendations, 'cause I really don't want to loose ANY power. I found a body shop that can modify the panel (exhaust cut-out) to mirror the opposing side, so at least both sides of the truck would look the same.

Please, if anyone has imput in the successes and and failures in this matter, would you let me know?

Thank you all!
Spike

Why!?!?!!

Why would you want to put dual exhuast on? Are you going to put 4" tips on it, muddn' tires, and confederate flag?

what's next?

Yosimite Sam Mudflaps, chrome in-bed rollbar (with megawatt KC foglight garnish) and a deer catcher?

UMmmmmmmmm why? Straigh pipes no mufflers?

First off to loud.
Second, you do know that these trucks need backpressure, especially at lower rpm's, or you will see a power loss.

It's been done before and it's not that big of a deal to do. The truck was running straights out the back and one small advantage of doing it this way was that it seemed to help keep the exhaust noise down inside the cab. Another option would be to run exhaust out both sides.

Thanks...I Think?

I appreciate the responses...I was hoping to find out how much back pressure the proposed exhaust might build as compared to the 2.1 (max) psi the factory exhaust stacks up at full tilt. No sir, not a hill billy / country a$$ bone in me body...I just want to dual out the ole lightning with clean lines and totally concealed for a bit of uniqueness.

Captainoblivious, my best guess is that the exhaust, dualled out the back would provide more B.P. than one would want...At any rate, Thanks again, Captain for the most appropriate reply and I'll you and Rick know how it worked out. I does not appear, that much custom exhaust work, out side of replacement mufflers is very popular.

Happy holidays!
