Here is my 2 cents worth. When the truck is cruising the computer is adjusting fuel according to the o2 sensors. The truck should not be lean in this condition unless there is a misread from the o2 sensors. At WOT it takes what it has learned while cruising and adds to that per the chips adjustments. If you are lean at cruising it does not mean that you are lean at WOT the chip may be on the rich side as it is. All depends on the tuner. You might want to check to see what your o2 sensors are reading. How many miles is on the truck?

Don't forget the MAF sensor plays a major role in fuel delivery while cruising.

Cool

Artie,

That is anti-seize. I have some silver and copper colored.

To clear this up. There is no problem with my truck. The Split in the pic was ran in between the TR6 and the TR5 that is in there now. Quit trying to diagnose an imaginary problem. The only problem is the NGK's appear to burn quite a bit leaner while cruising. Now put your thinking caps on an explain this since both plugs are suppose to be colder.

Cool

Redneck Ferrari,

It seems like everytime I try another plug they don't measure up and I wind up going back to the Split's.

The TR6's made me lose over a MPH at the track so back to the Split's I went.

I'm testing the TR5's now but I need to get my chip back to do some real testing. I'm just a little concerned about the leaness.

Question I guess my question was not asked properly. Let's try again !!!

I was not taking about the type (brand) of plug that would make the truck run leaner. What I really want to know is which cylinder runs the leanest in our trucks? I am running NGK TR6 plugs at the moment and I occasionally check the plugs after making some passes at the track. Which plugs should I pay more attention to? Cylinder 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8?

Maybe that's a little better?

JC

That's a good question. I have not pulled all plugs after a WOT pass. After all the brands I have tried they all seemed to be pretty consistant (all cylinders) when I pulled them after daily driving.

Here is a link about the TR5 question I asked Jim. It gives a better explain about what's going on with the plug.

Jeff - any of the 3 tuners should carry the plugs, I know Jim does. Do a search on changing plugs, basically it's a job that requires a full a day, a case of bear and something you don't mind if you break. Just finding the all the plugs is enough to make you turn away.

I have a set tr5's waiting to be thrown in, but I think I'm gonna wait til I get a second vehicle so I can do the plug change over the span of a few days and not have to worry about rushing to finish quickly.

Heres a pic of the easiest plug to get to after almost 8000 miles
