Ok guys, need your help.
I am very close to buying a new 2001 L and even have it locked up in my name with $100 in earnest money. I want to get the 2001 as opposed to ordering a 2002 because the dealer will use the x-plan for the 2001. Also, 0% financing is available until Nov. 20th and the 2002'2 wont be delivered for a few more months.

Here is my problem. The only colors left on 2001's are red and white. Both look good on an L, but I prefer darker colors, especially black as I have had that color on my sports cars in the past in black and it is my favorite.

Stupid question time. I would like to repaint to the color of my choice. What are your experiences on your custom paint jobs of your L's for those of you who have done this. Do you wish you had left it alone, or are you glad you went to the effort? What should I look for in a custom paint job, and what kind of price range should I expect for a good quality job worthy of a Lightning?

GoDogGo, just get the RED one and be happy.

Trust me on these two points:

1. RED is the Lightning's best color

2. A satisfactory (read quality) repaint will end up costing you much more than just waiting for a 2002 in the color you want. Not to mention the fact that a total repaint will immediately lower the trucks value forever.

 

You don't want red because......?
