This was the best that I came up with. They are supposed to work great also.

http://www.tirerack.com

Search by make, model etc. $88 a tire and $51 per steel wheel.

There's also some $64 a piece tires there.

go to tirerack

i just got in last week......4 of the factory 16" plain rims($51 a piece) and 4, 235 70 16 michelin alpine II's($88 a piece). Also got the style 5 wheel covers which looks crappy on the L, and didn't fit for some reason. Wouldn't waste the money. They don't look great, but i didn't feel like spending another 300 bucks for better rims. The whole deal mounted, balanced and shipped was like $680. Best price around that i could find. Of course minus the wheel covers. I think you can get the next step up in wheels for $109 a piece. I delt with gary 1 800 541-1777 xten 386. He was good. The wheels come in silver, but i'm tempted to paint them black for next year. They are on there now and will be there till march anyway. Gonna put some weight in the back too. go to www.tirerack.com. Search under winter tire packages and you will get what I bought. This is gonna be my 1st winter with the truck, but i already can tell, with the power, it's not gonna drive in the snow worth a damn, but at least i can go out after the roads are plowed.

The cost of one accident or getting seriously stuck and damaging something will pay the difference between 'cheap' snow tires and something you'll be confident to drive AND pleased to look at. The Tire Rack has take-off cast wheels (mine are from a Navigator) that cost $5/each more than steel. I did have to hit the junkyard for non-Lincoln hubcaps though. There are no winter tires I know of that fit the stock Lightning wheels.

Check out:

and then do a SEARCH on 'winter tires' to find lots of info. I've had very good luck by staying out of the boost and shifting into 2nd gear when it really gets bad.

Tirerack: Bridgstone Winter Dueler DMZ-2 $90 per tire, ford factory F150 wheels with center caps, $60 each. mounted ballanced and shipped was about $670. Tire size is 225/75/16. I will be putting them on the truck on Tuesday. They look like ***** compared to the 18's but not that bad compared to most winter steel wheels.

The cheapest form of winter tires, is a $500 Escort with stock tires to drive over the winter while the Lightning gets to rest

i wish

I wish it were that simple, but at the age of 22, i can't afford two have two cars on the road. Only drive my L once the roads are cleared. I had an option to buy my girlfrieds 85 maxima when she just bought her new escort zx2...(nice car for the money by the way), but couldn' afford it. Because my L is financed, has to be insured all year , even if i'm not driving it.

Talli right but adding a POS escort of the like will only increase insurance premiums 20-40$ a month. Sal is just saying a 2nd vehicle is a good idea with these trucks. Cheap cheap amd and a hell of alot cheaper than wrecking the lightnings...

Personally i got a 4x4 to drive in teh winter, my lightnign will be resting in the garage all winter, unless its nice out, which considering its been high 60's, low 70s all week, i dont see me driving the other truck for awhile.

I actually already have a 500 dollar escort, but i'm using that for my senior design project ( dont even have it insured maybe i should hurry up and finish so i can drive it in the snow currently i'm trying to give it as much horsepower as i can with just using everyday parts i can either build,, or fix up from the junkyard its such a pos i had to drill holes in the floor board in order to let the rain drain out cause of the leaky doors,

Geez, where do you guys live? Around here, a $500.00 escort is only good for one night!
