Chrome Lightning wheels (99-00)

Where is the best place to get these, I tried to get mine dipped here locally but all of the places here are nitwits, and i wouldnt' trust them with a the job of opening my twist off beer bottle.

Let me know, anyone do exchanges? Someone was telling me about some 20" versions of the 99-00 wheels, again prices and best place would be helpful

Thanks!
Brandon

Question

Jerry... how are your wheels holding up? Think we got ours about the same time. Got mine through Discount/Western and I had to replace one already. Caps are kind of cheesey too.

It also depends if you want Ford Motorsport wheels or knock offs. Most knock offs have a Lightning bolt cap , and are 9" wide vs the SVT cap and 9.5" wide. The chrome job may also be an issue.

KGM, mine are not perfect but they still look great from 5 or 6 feet away. One reason I have not traded for a 01 is because I love my chrome wheels and I HATE the 01 box spokes. To each his own I guess.

Try doing a search for it. I remember seeing someone recommending a place for OEM Lightning wheels, standard and chrome, but I don't recall the address. The standard wheels were $200-ish and the chrome ones were $300-ish. It was within the past 3 or 4 weeks I'm sure.

Crazyone,
Nice to see another Lightning owner on here from Lexington. What year/color do you have? I have a red 99 L with chrome wheels and the Roush suspension. I got my chrome wheels from a Ford dealer for $300/each. Maybe I'll see ya around sometime, I don't see many L's in Lexington.

Thumbs up

I had some replica 20" chrome 99-00 from Classic motorsports, I think 95cobraR has a set for sale at a good price.

The first set from Classic, I sent back, the second set was hand picked by them and the chrome plating was good.

Whoever you order them from, make sure they hand pick them if possible. Tell them you are picky..

I got my set of replica chrome 20" 01's last week and the chrome plating wasn't up to my standards.. They sent me another set, hand picked, and they look great.. But it cost me more money to send the second set to me, that sucked..

Question

DL...how much do you have in the rims and tires? Is there more than one place for the rims that you know of?

The '99/'00 rims. I've got a new blue coming but those rims will be the first thing to go.

Do a search and look at a pic of the new 01's in chrome., probably change your mind. I did.

Wait and order the rims after you get the truck, I had my 99-00 20's about 2 months before my truck arrived.. They did look good on my 01, but after I saw the 01's in 20" chromed, I had to have some..IMO...

I have the new 01's waiting on me at home to put on when I get back sat.

Bought the Toyo Proxies S/T 295/45/20 tires, had the Goodyear Eagle HP Plus 295/40/20 tires on the 99-00 rims and they road pretty well.. Thought I would try the Proxies with the higher sidewall for a better ride...

99-00

$1,750.00 includes lugs, shipping
$850.00 Goodyear tires
plus mounting and balancing
