Thumbs up Product Announcement - PSP FASTair

Ok, I know you guys have been hounding me about the FASTair ever since I mentioned it a while back . We are finally ready to take orders on them.

For a detailed description of the system, you can check here:

http://www.powersurgeperformance.net/FASTair.htm

Let me give a brief description here...

The PSP FASTair system comes with a box that encases a 12" cone filter kit. The box has two 3" inlets, and fresh outside air is fed into the box, from a dual outlet scoop that mounts under the bumper. Twin 3" ducting connects the scoop to the box. Our box does NOT completely seal off the filter like the Airraid does. Our box is designed to allow the unused air to vent out the top of the box, which keeps a constant flow of fresh air always available to the filter.

The PSP FASTair is an UPGRADE for an exisiting filter kit. I can be used with all PSP, JDM and JL 12" filter kits. If you have a JDM or JL filter kit, you will need the optional mounting bracket that comes standard with our PSP 12" filter kit. Obviously owners of our PSP 12" filter kit do not need this as they already have it.

If you don't currently have a filter kit, you can purchace one of ours. PLEASE note, that the FASTair boxes are made for either 80mm or 90mm MAFs. You must get the correct obx for your MAF. If you are planning to switch to a 90mm MAF and you want the FASTair, it would be a good idea to get the FASTair, 90mm MAF kit, and 90mm Filter kit all at once. We can supply all of those if need be.

Initial testing with air temps has been very promising. On our 01 test truck, our open cone filter kit showed an air intake temp of 116 degrees sitting at idle. Going from idle to a WOT 1/4 mile blast, showed a decrease to 86 degrees by the end of the run. This was on a 59 degree day.

Hooking up the FASTair on the same day, showed only a 85 degree air temp sitting at idle, and by the end of the 1/4 mile, intake air temps had dropped to 62 degrees, only 3 degrees over outside air.

I will be more than happy to answer any questions concerning the new FASTair. The pricing is $180 for the kit, and $20 for the optional mountning bracket.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND-- We are currently taking order for the FASTair systems, BUT, these kits are build to order, so please allow a little extra time for processing the order.

Sal I know my system is much different with the filter being down by the bumper and having a four inch pipe up to the MAF, but do you think I would pick any gains up with this filter system.

So basically I'm getting air thats right by the drivers side fog light at all times.

Just curious because I would like to pick up more HP, but I spent about 400 bucks on my setup.

Can you post some pics of your setup? I've been considering something similar to what you have...just need to see how the finished product looks Did you build it yourself?
Thanks...

Sal, correct me

if I'm wrong(as I was about your steel[not] pulley). RT, the filter is not down by the bumper, the scoop is. The filter is in its 'normal' place.

Sal,
Is the scoop easy to remove for rainy days? (not like it rains much here anyways, but there will be some rainy days) I know its not actually a ram-air, but I would imagine that you could still get some water in the filter.

LIGHTNINROD,
I think RT has a custom filter setup (down by the bumper), and he was just asking about his particular scenario.

Sal, I think I'm ready for one of those.

Of course, I'm running a little different set-up than most others. I use the Pro-M MAF and the short filter. It appears like the set-up will fit with a little tweaking.

I tried doing something similar, but it was a closed design and shrouded the filter. I picked up a tenth when I ripped it off. This one looks like just the ticket.

Hey guys let me tell you from first hand experience that this system is the best intake out there. I was the first to get one installed on my truck last friday when i went to go see Sal. The quality of the piece is top notch and i saw the actually effects of it and the numbers. Sal was driving my truck and had his scanner hooked up monitering air temp of the air going into the engine. When we were sitting still at idle waiting for traffic to clear for a WOT blast the air temp was 90 then when we got on the road and started moving and did a WOT blast the air temp dropped to like 60 a 30 degree drop simply awesome. Then Even better to my surprise was when we got back to Sals house after doing a good half hour of WOT blasts and we popped the hood the intake was still cool to the touch. Im hitting e-town tonite and hoefully will get my 12 second run i have been wanting and should get since Sal got her running good again and i know the FAST Air will help out with getting my 12.

Is the filter a K&N, and if not, is it a dry or oiled filter?

Im not sure if the filter is a K and N brand but is it the exact kind that you can reuse once you clean it and has the open element on the end. As for the chip reburn question i dont think that you need a chip reburn i didnt and the FAST Air isnt a a ram air and isnt force feeding the engine air. It just brings the fresh cool air to the engine and lets it take what it needs you can tell the diffenrece with it in the temps of the air that me and Sal got and which we posted in out other posts.
