weight and reliability issue ??
Do you think a modded L can take racing every weekend during a season? That would be atleast 7 passes a weekend for a total of atleast 70 runs a season.
Where can you lose weight in the L without really changing the cosmetic looks?
Can you get fiberglass fenders?
Does a cervinis hood save weight over stock hood (how much)
How much sound deadener can be lost in the truck?
I would like to get my truck down to 4000 pounds if possible?
Even if that involves using racing seats and the such...i just don't want to remove the stock dash.

There are many trucks on here with hundreds of passes. Maintain is the key to any racing vehicle. You cannot wait for a failur before you replace parts. That means you need to spend money. 70 passes a year should be realistic with proper preparation and maintinance.
Getting your truck down to 4000 pounds is not too realistic. That would mean losing close to 1000 pounds. No easy task. Glass hood is heavier than the stock unit. Glass fenders should be available but you will need much more. Factory wheels and tires weigh 62 pounds each (99-00, 01 are more). There are several key areas to look at but again how much do you want to spend.

HI!.... Well I don't own a LIGHTNING, but my F-150 weighs in around 4100lbs and I have just over 100 passes at the dragstrip and probably twice that on street races. No failures yet.
